Goodbye

I see a distance in your eyes
A silent pain is hidden
You're close enough to touch
But touching is forbidden

Suddenly I'm all alone
With nowhere else to run
'Cause with one single word
I told you now it's done

You look at me with shock
Pain screaming from your eyes
And though my soul is torn apart
I know we've been living lies

Lies that would've hurt you more
If we had stayed together
Through the pain inside my heart
I feel we cannot last forever

The years we spent together
Will always be a part of me
But through all the love we shared
I know we weren't meant to be

And now my soul is crying out
I see the pain my words have caused
Shadows fall inside your eyes
And we cry, seeing what we lost

Remembering the day we met
And the love that made us fly
Now i silently shed my tears
And with a whisper say goodbye

Unicorn

As the gentle fog slowly rises
and the rain begins to fall
Within the shadows of the trees
a pair of eyes can see it all

Looking into the darkness
and searching all around
Then slowly it appears
as no danger has been found

There is a shimmer in its eyes
behind the moonlight that gets reflected
The ancient knowledge in its heart
that it keeps so well protected

Then the moon rises beyond its eyes
and reveales a pearled, white skin
A mighty horn upon its head
and the secrets of where its been

This Unicorn saw the beginning of time,
when it's voice was the only one
It still walks the earth in solitude
never to appear underneath the sun

This creature is beyond the legends
that are told about its kind
Within this mighty Unicorn
love and magic are intertwined

In all its glory, it here now stands
softly treading the forest ground
Deeply breathing in the midnight air
this huge creature doesnt make a sound

As it is truely the king of stars
it radiates an inner light,
brighter then the stars up in the sky
This is one force, no one dares to fight

While the moon slowly descends
on a course to greet another day
it walks back into the shadows
and with them, slowly fades away
Life

On this dead and barren land
In the shadow of an ancient stone
Hiding from the cruel sun
Something still survives

Patiently waiting for its freedom
That hides in the relief of rain
Everywhere there is a battle
A fight against the draught

Then when the rain begins to fall
Life can finally spread its wings
And from the endless fields of dust
A flower opens up

Instantly the colour rises
Exploding from the sand
And the desert becomes a flower
For a second so alive

But in the ruthless sunlight
This life wont last for long
And as the flowers all dry out
Their seeds are left here in the sand

Like their parents they will wait
For a lifetime, if they must
Waiting for the rain of life
Again the cycle is complete
