Gus
            (The Theatre Cat)
Gus (the theater cat)

Nicknames: Gus is his nickname his real name is Asparagus, but thats such a fuss to pronounce. Hes not the same cat as
Asparagus in the film , though.

Age: Elder

Family:
Asparagus (son,)

Physical Appearance: Mostly gray and pale brown. His coats very shabby, as thin as a rake, and he suffers from palsy, which makes his paws shake. His voice trembles and hes almost as dilapidated as
Grizabella.

The Naming of Gus: (GUSS) Gus is normally short for Augustus, a name meaning venerable or majestic, but this one is short for Asparagus. Asparagus is a green vegetable which grows in stalks. (See also
ASPARAGUS)

Description: Gus was once a great actor, but has since too old for the theater. His greatest creation as an actor was Fireforfiddle, the Fiend of the Fell. During his song, he sees a vision of this great creation and thinks of his younger days.

Memorable Quote: And I said, These kittens, they do not get trained as we did in the days when Victoria reigned. - Gus: The Theater Cat.

People who have played Gus: Sir John Mills (film.) Stephen Hanan (OB,) Stephan Tate (OL,) John Dewar (BA,) Grant Smith (OA), Stephen Fisher (CRAC)
