They got married on New Years Eve at Thala Beach Resort in far north Queensland, Australia. It was a small, very private ceremony with around 100 guests including Guy Pearce, David Helfgott and Sir Richard Branson.
True to character Daniel looked like he had just rolled out of bed but he still looked good in his pale blue vintage suit, while
Natalie wore a white silk, chiffon v-neck gown designed by Monique Luillier. She also wore a bridal neckpiece which she co-designed with LA based designer Kavler and Kind and wore shoes by Jimmy Choo.
'The Dissociatives' is the title given the Dan and Mac's new project. The first debut
single will be titled "Somewhere Down The Barrel" and will be released in February next year.
Both Daniel and Paul definitely see their new band as “more than just a side project”. They recently shot a video for "Somewhere Down The Barrel" and
they are both focusing completely on releasing their album and touring next year.
While they plan to work
separately on other projects in late 2004 and 2005, they
hope to eventually make more albums as The Dissociatives.
Daniel Johns will make a guest appearance on the debut EP by Sydney duo, The Presets in coming weeks. He plays guitar on three songs - "Let's Go", "Get The Fk Outta Here" and "Cookie" and helped write the latter song with the group's members Julian Hamilton and Kim Moyes (who are also part of the acclaimed Sydney instrumental group Prop).
Daniel's involvement in these sessions was just a case of having some fun in the studio with some friends. He's really pleased that the recordings are getting released.
