The thoughts and expressions of me |

Burn
A little trial by fire Taste the flame as it licks the liar
Melting your chains quickly away But you forgot the pain that you must pay
So burn slowly in the fire that you lit Feel the beaded sweat dripping in the place that you sit
Isolated from the world in your free spirited chant Youd move if you could, but you find that you cant
Stuck in the cycle of the orange, blue, and red Right in the center of the skin you have shed
But this is your own and who you have become A lifeless being who burned to be one |

Strength. An emotional illusion of where you are. The fleeting moment of pride and arrogance That leaves you cold. A stoic reminder of time and space. Life will go on. But will you be strong? Will you laugh in the face of your ever present pain, Lie in the dark with a shocked expression that Freezes your face into a ghostly pale shade. Shades of white and gray that frame Your youthfulness. Can a child be strong? Frail and weak, Ignorant and nave. Hiding under the covers To face the fears of the darkness That surrounds the room. This is strength. A non-existent source of empowerment That leaves when night falls. Truth comes and loneliness follows Its shadows that dance on the walls. A pious glory when survival is achieved And scars to prove the wounds did bleed. The light awaits the morn in pure day And there strength will be found. |

Once Upon a Time
Fly little fairy
And into the darkness you will find love
Far away in distant lands
Beauty sheds its halo
Like a symphony of light
Spreading across the sky
In a bright array of color
And there she is free
To spread her wings to flight
In this imaginary land |

Ambition
The idea of love was grand Red rose petals pressed to my face Entrancing music floating on angel wings Glass slippers containing tiny feet Covered by a white dress with diamond sequins
The dream was burst by a stubborn pride Chubby fingers and wrinkled noses Vie for independence Free from ties that hold me down Unlinked chains on a soul that flies
Inquisitive minds that thrive for knowledge Romance is not for scholars Perfume is for the ignorant child Confined in a home that feels like a cage Kept from the irresistible smells of the outside world
I found my abandon in the sandy beach Shells washed to shore from distant lands We long to see the farthest reaches of the earth My heart is captured by the dream in your eyes My childish pride no longer exists |

Dirt Roads
Hundreds of shattered pieces Thrown on the dusty road Behind me Fragments of lies That ruined my heart Stony from the calloused hope
The rocky trail With pebbles underfoot Treading relentlessly upon the dirty ground My small steps make imprints that I cant erase
When I look back More pieces break off The remnants of the forgotten remembered They crunch beneath my feet Become part of my rigid flesh |
