Our favourite place in Coimbatore is the Impact Lab!! Well, seriously, there are not so many places to freak out here in Coimbi. After all, we are not here to enjoy. Our main aim is to study. Enjoyment comes later. What will we gain in life if we start enjoying now itself?
	OK, OK, Let's not be a kill-joy. I know there are quite a number of young aspiring Romeos and Juliets out there ! Well, for a date, if the patner is afraid of being seen by class-mates etc., i'd scratch out a movie. Movies are a no-no, coz there's always bound to be one loud- mouthed person around. You may not see him/her, but, trust me, he/she'll certainly notice you. For those type of shy dates, i'd suggest eating out together.
	For those people with fat wallets, well, Residency ain't bad. Actually, that's one nice joint. Coz, the food are really cheap for its class. Then, there's "Wellington", the Nilgiris restaurant, another nice joint. Also try "CAG Pride". Food and service is not as great as Residency, but if privacy is what you want, then you got it.
	Or you can go to some quite place and order a pizza from "Dominoes", or some North-Indian dish from "Rayappas", or chinese dish from "Taipan". Scrumtious food is just a phone-call away. But never order from "Prince Pizza".... unless you want loosies ! "Super Cook" ain't bad either.
	"Hong Kong"(Hope's College) is an excellent restaurant for chinese food. I really love those pork chowmeins and manchow soups. It has now got A.C. facilities (just recently). Its sister restaurant "Peking"(D.B.Road) is also good, but the food is not as delicious as the former. "Chanthini" is one of my favourite, coz, not only are the kabaabs great, there's also a special student discount offered. I know quite a number of guys from our class who haunt this place regularly."The Malabar"(Gandhipuram) for savoury Kerala delicacies."Pizza World"(D.B.Road) has got a lot of vareity, and is more spacious than "Dominoes", but "Dominoes" is where you'll get real pizzas.
	For short snacks, "HotBreads" is recommended. You'll find luscious Hot-dogs and Foot-longs here. "Ice-berg" for a cool aiz-kream to beat the hot summer. Nilgiris catering service is not that bad either. Puffs and Danish at a reasonable rate. The various Sree Krishna Sweet joints are commendable places too, after all, love is nothing but tons of sweet !
	There once used to be a really happening hang-out for the techians.... "J'z", (Jeziz, Jazz, Jeis ... whatever).But it had closed down recently. Food was a bit above the economical level but the i-connection and pool/snooker parlours were totally rad. If you got time to kill, you could always spend the whole day there, watching TV, playing pool/snooker and browsing. Plus, all around you, there's nothing but familiar faces. The crowd was mainly composed of Techians. Lovely place, but watch out for those sizzling Tacos and enticing Gateaux . Mouth-watering indeed, but it will drain your purse before you can say 'ra?'.(Think that was the main reason it flopped. Prizes were too high for us college kids) To add to all these, there used to be a disc almost every week. Mind-blowing rythm mixed by D.J. Carl who also runs "Pujak", one of the most prominent music recording store i've ever come across in TN. Nothing to beat like five hours of intense boogie to take away the college blues. Too bad they stopped.
	For places near our college, "Boomerang" is really happening. I see a lot of our College ppl hanging out over there. But, for me, when it comes to ice-cream, Baskin Robins is the Best. There's one in D.B.Road and another near Ppl's Park (Opp. Cheran Towers). For lunch, Aryaas is the best when it comes to non-veg. Ghee !! Ghee !! everywhere Ghee !! Thats how i eat lunch. Then we have "Darshan" with its ever refreshing and economical lime juice, "Famous cafe" serving quick breakfast, "Greenland" serving cockroaches and "Hotel Raja" for mutton dish made from beef ! Finally, the ever reliable "NmB" stores, that have basically everything under the sun.
	I don't think it is necessary to talk about the various i-cafes and pool/billiards/snooker joints, coz you ppl will know much more about it. Another great way of hanging out is to go window shopping ! May sound ridiculous, but trust me, it IS fun. Cheran towers, Singapore plaza etc etc not to forget R.S.Puram, where you'll find everything.... like Nike, Reebok, Archies, Lee, Levis, Woodlands, Woodpecker, Burlingtons, various leather and canvas stores, restaurants, and a funky place called "Crazy Balls". Don't miss out any of these places if you're going win-ping.
