Hey there Y'all!
My name's Danielle.
By the time you read this-
You'll know me so well!
I'm a country girl
deep in my heart-
It's been that way
from the very start!
When they hear
someone say-
"Hey there Y'all-
how's yer day?"
My friends, they all know,
don't hafta turn around -
That would be me
and my southern sound.
Now some people say
that I'm justa hick-
Or maybe a hillbillie
'cuz my accent's tooo thick.
Well, I really don't mind
or tell 'em ta quit,
I just smile sweetly 'n say-
"Kiss this hick's grits"
Now we'll move on
to my favorite thangs-
And all the fun and
joy that it brings!
The warm southern sun
beats down on my face-
There's nowhere on earth
like this beautiful place!
The Edisto river,
it's a beautiful gift-
When I go raftin'
my heart, it does lift!
Now some people quiver
and tremble with fear-
You'll see the shock
as the gators come near!
Some say I'm crazy
and maybe that's true-
But me and those gators
have an understandin' of few!
I watch but don't touch 'em,
I just leave 'em alone,
Even they- have the right,
to be king of their throne!
That simple understandin'-
is just let 'em be.
Then they'll swim by
without eatin'on me!
Now I'll move on,
Hmmm.. lemme think-
I'll sling ya a story
as I give ya a wink. ;)
I have three- big old dawgs
they don't mean any harm-
But sadly my neighbors don't see
their warmth or their charm
They love to run and play
or chase an ol' bullfrog-
They have even gone after
Farmer Hiotts prize hog!
First we have Pepper
he's old and a mutt-
But around my backyard
that dog, he will strut.
Next we have Dallas
he was a superbowl bet,
They lost- I won-
their dog, I did get!
They stay outside
and keep away danger.
They'll bark and growl
and scare away strangers!
Then I have Samson
he's sweet as can be
and when I come home
he happily greets me.
They are my friends
there is no doubt-
If ever I need 'em
I just give a shout out.
This is my story
I tell ya it's true-
I wouldn't be tellin'
no 1/2 truths to you!
Now my story surely
couldn't come to an end-
Without a quick mention
of my family and friends.
Hmmm.. my family?
Quite an interestin' clan-
But if one gets 'n trouble
together we'll stand!
Now we're a small family
of only a few
But get 'em together
seems like a 1000 x's 2!
Aahh, my friends, they are
silly , caring and kind-
They always are there
when im losin' my mind!
We will sit outside
under an Angel Oak tree-
Sip pink lemonade
or maybe iced tea.
We love a good pig pickin',
or an oyster roast-
I have such great friends
Why wouldn't I boast?
I betcha are thinkin'
that I have forgot-
How I love my computer
It's brought me alot.
I've seen strange things,
been so many places.
Even seen a few
of yer online faces!
One thang it's taught me,
something I'll never forget-
There's lots of great people
out there on the net!
At last my story is over
it's 'bout at its end-
But I'll leave ya with this
my new found friend..
