THE PRODUCT
QUASAR
QUASAR is a market leading, multi-currency, investment management, settlement and accounting system supporting all types of fund management and custody operations. Functionality includes trade confirmation, stock and cash settlement, electronic delivery instructions, corporate event processing, management fees, client reporting, fund accounting, unit pricing and private client management.
PERMANENT PROGRAMMERS, SENIOR PROGRAMMERS ANALYST / PROGRAMMERS, SENIOR ANALYST PROGRAMMERS, SENIOR TEAM LEADERS - BIRMINGHAM BASED - REF TB2
THE POSITION - to work on CLIENT SERVER and SERVER ONLY applications product development for the FINANCIAL SERVICES SECTOR (principally Investment Management). Technology used will be "M", Open "M", Visual Basic, Bridgebuilder (a development toolset) and Sybase.
SKILL BASE: - A minimum 12 months of "M" (MUMPS) and PRODUCT OR BESPOKE SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT in an end user or software house environment, with experience of INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT APPLICATIONS being very desirable. Additionally, experience using a Structured or Object Oriented development methodology would be an advantage, but is not essential.
Subject to the permanent candidate being able to demonstrate the above skills and experience we are prepared to offer full re-training in our chosen technologies and applications within our newly completed CB training unit.
SENIOR ANALYST PROGRAMMERS – CONTRACT – BIRMINGHAM BASED � NEG - 3/6 MONTH CONTRACTS - REF TBC
Professional contract consultants with either MUMPS (M) or M and QUASAR expertise required on our development teams to assist permanent staff in ongoing product development. Opportunities of travel to Europe apply equally to our contract consultants. Options exist to transfer to permanent positions.
TECHNICAL WRITERS - BIRMINGHAM - PERM - REF LJ
A bright, enthusiastic technical author is required to join an existing documentation team. Working in a development environment, you will be required to write and edit user documentation and help files, utilising existing technical documentation and members of your team as reference points. You will have excellent writing and communication skills with a sound knowledge of Microsoft products. Additionally, knowledge of the financial marketplace would be advantageous.
TECHNICAL WRITERS - PERM - BIRMINGHAM - REF IH4
Two Technical Writers are required to be instrumental in the production of user and training guides and software release notes, and who possess the ability to liaise with all levels of technical staff. Exposure to the financial environment would be advantageous, as would any familiarity with Windows-based products i.e. AmiPro, HDK or Word.
SUPPORT ANALYST - BIRMINGHAM BASED - � NEG - REF PS1
Support analyst required to support extensive client base. Liaising with clients on a daily basis requires extensive customer care commitment. Essential knowledge of MUMPS and QUASAR will equip you to contribute to this very busy environment.
ANALYST PROGRAMMERS - BIRMINGHAM BASED - PERM - � NEG - REF SL2
We require professional self-motivated individuals to join enthusiastic support team. This is a customer-facing role where you will be required to analyse problems and fix them in a timely manner. Knowledge of MUMPS and QUASAR would be advantageous or alternatively, knowledge of Basic linked with experience of Investment Management or Stockbroking, C++, RDB, Sybase.
TECHNICAL CONSULTANT – LONDON BASED PERM – REF AS1
The applicant will be working in a high profile, customer-facing role. Good presentation and written skills will be required. Working within a team of 8 Consultants responsible for the implementation and subsequent support and consultancy for all ACTFS Customers and products. Opportunities for exposure to new skills and technologies.

- Relational Database Management (Sybase, Oracle) *

Additional requirement to assist with Consultancy services across other ACTFS product offerings. This position is available in either Birmingham or London depending upon relevant applications.

Working within a team of 8 Consultants responsible for the implementation and subsequent support and consultancy for all ACTFS Customers and products. Working within a team of 4-5 Consultants responsible for the implementation and subsequent support and consultancy for all ACTFS’ Front Office Performance Analysis product. Opportunities for exposure to new skills and technologies.

BUSINESS ANALYSTS - LONDON - PERM - �NEG - REF MC
We require business analysts to be involved in pre-sales activities, investigation and documentation of client requirements and client liaison during acceptance testing and implementation of an exciting new Stockbroking system. Candidates must have exposure to the Financial Services industry, preferably Stockbroking, including a number of the following areas:
- CREST settlement
- Cash management (DD, BACS, CHAPS, cash input, etc.)
- Asset management, Custody and Corporate Events
- SFA reporting requirements
- SWIFT
- Data feeds (Extel, etc.)
- Accounting (ledgers, trial balances, etc.)
Candidates may also have experience of one or more of the following:
- Structured Analysis
- Object Oriented Analysis, use of object oriented modelling tool
- (Select)
The successful candidate will also possess an analytical mind set, excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), and be capable of producing clear, concise, unambiguous documentation.
