Chapter 6     Long Stories
Chapter 7
Claudia looked up into the dark but she couldn't see anything. Nina clapped her hands, "See Claudia, I told you there was a boy!"
Claudia felt a strong hand grab hers and pull her up. She dusted herself off.
"We should keep moving if we ever want to see each other in the light." ,said a boyish voice.
Claudia shrugged her shoulders and kept walking. Every step brought them closer and closer to the end of the dark. Finally, they were almost there. Then, they reached the exit. It was a beautiful sight. There were trees and flowers covering the ground and sunlight poured into every crevace of the Earth. There was a beautiful, natural silence. It was so peaceful and pretty. It was like a place Claudia had only imagined while playing her games.
She looked over at the boy. He was taller than Claudia. He had handsome curly brown hair. He wore dirty brown pants and an old button up shirt. It looked like one of the shirts her dad wore when he worked outside with her mother. To Claudia he looked really moronic staring into the sky and taking in all that was around him. She looked at Nina who was covered in dirt but she too was taking in the scenery around her. Claudia looked down at herself. She too was very dirty and wish she could be home getting ready for a nice warm bath.
Nina looked over at the boy, "Excuse me but I forgot to introduce mself. My name is Nina Burnstein. I'm 12 years old. Who are you?"
The boy laughed, "My name is Bryant Carthage. I'm of 12 years too. It's very nice to meet you. Who is your friend?"
Nina elbowed Claudia in the ribs,  "Ow! My name is Claudia Fitzgerald. I'm 12 years old and my father is very rich. I'm smart and I have my own governess. I was going to be a princess but my cousin was selfish and didn't want to marry a Russian."
Nina giggled, "She's a liar Bryant. She was never going to be a princess."
Claudia stuck her nose in the air and walked off into the flowers. Nina and Bryant followed her.
Bryant caught her by the arm, "Hey, you don't know where you're going. What if you get lost? I got you out of there, I might as well see you through the Flowered Forest."
Claudia laughed, "We would've done fine by ourselves thank you. We're not blind, we saw the end of the tunnel."
Bryant laughed, "You wouldn't last one minute in there," ,he pointed towards the on coming trees, "don't let the name fool you. It's dark as night in there and if you don't watch your step you never know where you could end up."
Claudia turned to Nina who walked next to her, "Nina, I think I hear something in the wind. Lets walk into those trees there to get away from it."
Bryant stopped walking while the other two kept going, "I have a feeling I'm not wanted."
Claudia turned around, "Well you're not Mr.Carthage."
Bryant's face became stern, "Fine, I see, then I'll take the short cut and you can just forget me helping you."
Claudia turned around and followed Nina into the trees with Bryant standing in the middle of the flowers.
"Fine!" ,shouted Claudia.
"Fine!" ,shouted Bryant.
