Soroptimist Pledge

SOROPTIMIST PLEDGE I pledge allegiance to Soroptimism and to the ideals for which it stands: The Sincerity of Friendship, The Joy of Achievement, The Dignity of Service, The Integrity of Profession, The Love of Country. I will put forth my greatest efforts To promote, uphold & defend these ideals, For a larger fellowship - in home, in society, In business, for Country and for God.

SI Largo has chosen Pinellas Village (www.pinellasvillage.org) as our "Identifying Community Service Project" for this club year.

Pinellas Village is a 120 unit apartment complex for single parent families  who are working towards economic self-sufficiency through education, training and supportive family services 

Three events planned include:
Secret Santa-Gifts for Parent  – December
Mother’s Day Celebration – May
Back to School Event – July or August

SI Largo’s current International Goodwill and Understanding project is fundraising for “Operation Pump Well”, providing deep water wells to communities in poverty stricken of Bikol in the Philippines.

SI Largo also participates in two of the Soroptimist International of the Americas identifying projects:

Women's Opportunity Awards (WOA) program, which aids women heads-of-household to enter or re-enter the job market through formal education and training, and

Domestic Violence Awareness/Prevention Campaign:

Ø      Distribute “Loves Me, Loves Me Not” bookmarks

Ø      Participates in the Clothesline Project

Ø      Workplace Campaign Against Domestic Violence
