During the summer of 2001, a group of sorors began discussing a noticeable void in a nearby thriving community where there was no Zeta presence.

These sorors were actively involved in the local graduate chapter but were beckoned by the call to integrate Zeta into diverse communites that compile the Cary, NC area.

After several months of thorough research and vigorous planning, ten esteemed women embarked upon the challenge of chartering a Zeta chapter that would predominately serve these communities.

On June 1, 2002, the tangible results of our diligent efforts were born into reality in the living room of one of its members. Thus, Sigma Rho Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. was officially chartered by the NC State Director, Eastern Regional Director, and NC Area II coordinator.
