People who are visually impaired need help from time to time. If you have some spare time that you can give, Sight Loss Services can use your help.

Here are a list of Volunteer Opportunities
  1. Self Help Support Group Driver
    Transporting 2 or 3 visually impaired group members (who live in the same area) to and from their monthly support group meeting.


  2. Self Help Support Group Assistant
    Helping with refreshments at a monthly support group meeting.


  3. Friendly Visitor
    Visiting with a visually impaired person to help with reading mail, writing checks, reading the newspaper, etc.


  4. Telephone Buddy
    Calling a visually impaired person to offer a friendly voice, to break up the isolation, to check on health and safety.


  5. Back Up Support Group Driver/Guide
    To fill in from time to time for a group driver who may be on vacation or ill.


  6. "Errand Runner"
    Running errands for a visually impaired person who cannot drive and cannot get to the post office, grocery shopping, pharmacy, card shop, etc.
