Up fairly early to sketch the palm trees! Sitting on my balcony, I look out
over the ocean every day, and have the most marvelous view, with these palm
trees right in the foreground. It is truly amazing. Think this will just
be another lazy day. We'll show Bob and Cindy and the girls around town,
and maybe do some swimming. Ocean or pool? Pool or ocean? Hmmmm. What
a dilemma!
We went for a walk to show them where we spent our first night, and then walked back along the beach. Bob and Cindy can't remember too much about last night. They had a few drinks on the plane, and then those margaritas at Cesar and Charleys just did them in.
We basically just laid on the beach (ate quesadillas at Las Palmas) and then spent the rest of the day at the pool. Bob and Cindy walked to Barra and then took the 3 1/2 peso bus back to Melaque. High Class!
Greg was due in about 4:00 and arrived safe and sound shortly thereafter. He almost ended up on the other side of Manzanillo. He told the cabbie Las Brisas, meaning the name of the hotel. Apparently there is a TOWN named Las Brisas as well. But fortunately, he told them Melaque a little later, and ended up in the right spot! Of course, I had to introduce him to all the hotel staff. Everybody wanted to meet "Gregorio", mi esposo! We got him fixed up with a cold cervasa, then he and Jeff went for a long walk along the south end of the beach, almost to the first rock outcropping.
The nine of us (Mom stayed home) headed off to supper at Flor y Morenas.
This is a restaurant we had been wanted to sample since we got here, but
its either not open, or no tables are available. Tonight we hit it just
right. We had wonderful pozole and enchiladas. The kids were not
impressed with their meal (they all had the same thing, and for the life
of me I can't remember what it was).
They think
Cesar & Charleys makes the
best club sandwiches in town. Anyway, we fed 9 people on 200 pesos, and
that included a couple of beers. Not bad.
Jeff is sitting out on the balcony, just staring out at the ocean, and listening to the surf pounding. For us Alberta folk, that is just such a spectacular feeling. I Love this place!
