| Genesis 7: 5-10 And Noah and his sons and his wife and his sons' wives entered the ark to escape the waters of the flood. Pairs of clean and unclean animals, of birds and of all creatures that move along the ground, male and female, came to Noah and entered the ark, as God had commanded Noah. And after the seven days the floodwaters came on the earth."
Sometimes when God points out a scripture to you, it starts burning inside your heart. Do you see what I see here? After Seven DaysAfter Seven DaysAfter Seven Days Noah waited for more than 100 years building the ark and preaching the Word to the people. Now Noahs family and all the animals, birds and all creatures entered the ark as commanded by God, but they had to still wait for another seven days until the rain finally came. That must have been a trying period for Noah. Day one must have passed with expectation, day two- no rain, day three- no rain. It must have been a really frustrating and an agonizing time, not knowing what was going to happen. I can imagine his wife asking him, Noah, did God really speak to you? Where is the rain? I think many people when they reach this stage they start questioning God. Waiting seven days was not in vain, God was still giving a chance for this wicked world to repent. I would like to show you what happened after the floods. Do you know how many days Noah spent inside the ark? More than a year! The family had spent more than a year inside a Zoo. Now the rains had stopped, but watch what Noah did: Genesis 8:13 By the first day of the first month of Noah's six hundred and first year, the water had dried up from the earth. Noah then removed the covering from the ark and saw that the surface of the ground was dry. By the twenty-seventh day of the second month the earth was completely dry. Then God said to Noah, "Come out of the ark, you and your wife and your sons and their wives. Though the surface of the ground was dry and next the earth was completely dry, yet Noah did not come out of the ark until God commanded him, Come out of the ark! How is your patience today? How many times have you waited to really hear from the Lord? Have you waited to hear God saying, Come out? Too often, we murmur a prayer and may even fast, but we rush off to do what we want. Many marriages would not suffer today if only we learned to wait. Many business failures could have been avoided, if only we learned to wait. Rash decisions not only ruin your life, it can affect others as well. |
