"What Do
Customers Want?"
The Delta Upsilon
Chapter of Phi Beta Lambda at Southeastern Illinois College (SIC) in Harrisburg,
Illinois, wanted to emphasize that free enterprise works! Our chapter's
primary mission in developing our American Free Enterprise Project was
to promote and develop an understanding of the American Enterprise system
and show our community how good customer service makes a business successful.
To provide
education about how customer service is vital to local high school students,
campus students, and professionals in the workforce, we establised the
following objectives:
Emphasize
education, good interviewing skills, perfect resumes, and networking to
become a good employee.
Inform and encourage area highschool and SIC students about SIC's business
and computer classes and the benefits of joining either of our business
organizations.
Create public awareness of our efforts in promoting free enterprise.
Work with business professionals in our area to help them with training
in customer service.
Develop professional business partnerships.
Host a "Customer Service Regional Meeting."
In order
to reach our objectives, we decided to:
Create
an awareness and understanding of the American free enterprise system.
Inspire the desire for knowledge about free enterprise and how it works
today.
Work with other student organizations.
Generate Phi Beta Lambda members' confidence in their ability to lead,
delegate
authority, and to
work together.
