A STORY OF ENCOURAGEMENT

Return to Prayer Bulletin

Return to Main

Once there was a man who dared God to speak:

Burn the bush like you did for Moses, God. And I will follow. Collapse the wall like you did for Joshua, God. And I will fight. Still the waves like you did on Galilee, God. And I will listen.

And so the man sat by a bush, near a wall, close to the sea and waited for God to speak.

And God heard the man, so God answered.

He sent fire, not for a bush, but for a church.
He brought down a wall, not of brick, but of sin.
He stilled a storm, not of sea, but of soul.

And God waited for the man to respond.
And He waited...
And He waited...
And He waited...

But because the man was looking at bushes, not hearts; bricks and not lives; sea and not souls, he decided that God had done nothing.

Finally he looked to God and asked, Have you lost your power?

And God looked at him and said, Have you lost your hearing?

E. International Focus

Prayer for Cleansing the Land-South Africa
Currently have 156 towns and cities participating in the initiative of "Cleansing South Africa. This project will also be involved in helping to prepare the prayer teams that will need to pray at the different "sites of offence" during the second phase of the project.

There are several issues requiring prayer:

1.  The most important request is that God will lead us into repentance. If this is not repentance from the heart, then we might as well cancel the whole program. Pray that the Holy Spirit will move in the Church of South Africa and that He will find tender hearts willing to humble themselves before God (2 Kings 22:19)

 2.  We still have about 650 towns and cities that require representatives. Areas that we are struggling with include  West  Coast and Swartland, Overberg, Bokkeveld, Griekwaland, Upington, Kalahari, Areas of the Karoo, Eastern Cape, Northern Cape, Northwest Province, Northern Prov       ince, Mpumalanga and some areas of KwaZulu Natal. Please pray for ways and means to contact these areas and to be able to share the vision with them.

3.  Please pray for one or two personnel with admin skills to be available to help coordinate the project from Pretoria.

4.  Pray that we will discern the will of the Lord clearly in every situation and that hindrances to clear communication will be removed.

5.  Pray for the writing of the renunciation and repentance prayers that need to be finalized over the next few weeks and for the necessary means to translate these prayers into the different languages of our country.

6.  We are trying to organise this project in such a way that it will not involve

high financial costs but some are unavoidable, such as the finances re-

quired for printing, distributing information and travelling expenses.

7.   Please pray that the Lord will provide in all these areas, as He has soare under a tremendous spiritual burden for this initiative and other initiatives that are currently running from NUPSA. Please pray that the Lord will help us to discern areas where the enemy tries to destroy and resist, and that we will be able to resist him and recognise all his subtle ways of attack.

8.  Please pray for the protection of NUPSA and the personnel at NUPSA, as we experience a definite direct attack on us that is not easing off. I want to quote from the book of Watchman Nee - Secrets to Spiritual Power:

"Nothing of the will of God is ever released without passing through man. Moreover, the will of God, when released through man, is never free from an encounter with Satan." Please pray according to Ephesians 6:13 "that we may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand."

F. Prayer for Church's Friend:
GERALD BRADLEY

My work association with the Atlas Corporation, over the past 3 1/2 years, is now coming to a close. Around 50 people have been retrenched (made redundant) over these past few weeks, as a great deal of financial pressure falls on the Company. My current 2 year Work Permit, concludes this September, so we have been really praying over our options. The Lord has opened so many incredible doors of opportunity for us, both in our ministry and in the corporate area, and we believe this is where God wants us, at this time in our lives. Right now, we are working with a very special close friend, who is working to open an opportunity for me to work in association with him and his Company. He, along with another friend, who is knowledgeable in the procedures required for such a process, are working on my behalf, to acquire a continuing work permit for me.

PLEASE cover these men and ourselves in PRAYER, that the Lord will open and 'perfect that which concerns us'. This is critical to our staying here in Malaysia!

G. Health

Continue to remember Ng Foong Leng, Tony Wong and others for their healing.

Prayer:  Thank You Father, through Jesus Christ for (names) in Jesus' Name I bring these requests and petitions before you on their behalf.  Thank you for sending Your Word, the Lord Jesus, and healing (names) and delivering them from their destruction.  I give you thanks for Your loving-kindness, and for Your wonders to the sons of men.  I pray that they will also  offer sacrifices of thanksgiving; and tell of Your works with joyful singing. Father, I pray that (names) give attention to Your words, and incline their ears to Your saying, that they will not let them depart from their sights, and that they keep them in the midst of their heart, because they are life to those who find them and health to their whole body.  Thank you, Father, that because (names) serve You, You will bless their bread and their water, and You will remove sickness from their midst (Exodus 23:25). Father, I pray their souls bless You, and that also give life to their mortal bodies through Your Spirit who indwells them (Rom 8:11) I thank you Father, that Jesus, Himself bore their sins in His own body on the cross, that they might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds they were healed. (1Pet 2:24)  Thank you, Father, that Christ has redeemed (names) them, for it is written, "Curse is everyone who hangs on a tree" in order that in Christ Jesus the blessings of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, that they might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Thank you Father, (names) belong to Christ, and are Abraham's offspring, and heirs according to the promise. (Gal 3:13,14,29)

THINK ABOUT

Did you ever have a day like this? A man, cleaning one of those big cement trucks, got caught in the mixer. He climbed into the mixer with a hose to flush out the remaining cement when his hose caught on a lever and pulled it to the "on" position. Suddenly, he found himself going round and round in the mixer with no way to escape! Slipping, sliding and banging around inside, all he could do was shout for help.

Fortunately, another worker came over and shut it off. In moments, a bruised and battered man, covered with wet concrete, emerged from the mixer. It reminds me of some days I've had...

Of course, no one ever said life is easy! But, as that incredible humanitarian novelist, Harriet Beecher Stowe, said, "When you get in a tight place and everything goes against you, until it seems as if you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time when the tide will turn."

IF IT FEELS AS IF YOU ARE IN THE CEMENT MIXER, DO YOU NEED TO HOLD ON A LITTLE LONGER?
