OBEDIENCE
Justin began in obedience by attending puppy classes when he was 4 months old. I wanted him to learn some of the basics (like come, heal, sit, down etc.) while working in an environment with other dogs and people.
Justin in the beginning was very nervous around the other dogs and people but by the end of the class was playing with the other puppies and allowing the people to pet him.

We attended conformation handling classes while we patiently waited for obedience to begin.

Unfortunately a few weeks into obedience class we had to drop out due to conflicts with our show career and my job as an agility instructor. We are continuing to work on our obedience and will return to classes in the fall.
I am hoping to have Justin ready for the obedience ring by next spring.

At the end of Sept. 2002 we returned to obedience partaking in a trial prep class. While I don't think that Justin will be quite ready for the obedience ring in the spring I am very happy with the progress that he has made. The biggest issue I will have with the ring is the stand for exam. Justin either loves the people so much that he runs up to them or he hates them so he runs back to me basically saying don't let that person touch me. In time I am hoping that he will overcome this issue
