Robert Clive presides over the Square. This was cast by the Italian sculptor Baron Charles Marochetti
Charles Darwin sits outside Shrewsbury Library. The bronze statue,cast be Horace Montford in 1897 was the cause of considerable angst when erected. The Vicar of St. Marys blamed the statue on the collapse of the Church spire and the removal of the statue was still being debated in 1929.
