The Abbey of St. Peter and St Paul
The Abbey was established by Earl Roger de Montgomery in 1083 on a spur of high dry land overlooking the river Severn. Within and without the religious grounds lay the monastery gardens including fishponds, a hatchery, orchards, vineyards, herb and vegetable gardens.
