"My Love,

This had to be one of the worse days in my life. To see Brian lying there with his brains scattered over Ted’s couch and floor was horrifying. What bothers me more than seeing such a sight is that I did not get sick this time. I’m afraid that I am getting used to seeing gross body parts lying around. No one should allow themselves to get that way. I finished guard duty alone and without a sergeant, not that one is really needed, but I found myself falling asleep a couple of times while I was driving the jeep. My mind turned to you to bring me back to reality and in the few minutes that I have been home I wrote this for you:

Delirious

I was on the road and very sleepy

My eyes were just about to close

When the car ahead suddenly stopped

I was startled awake and hit the brake

What woke me I did not realize

Until I looked to the passenger's side

There was an angel that said stay awake

I looked real close and the angel was you

You spoke to me tenderly and soft

You coached me with hit the brake and push in the clutch

You put your hand on mine and said

Let me help you shift the gears

When I arrived you were gone

I was so sad and I missed you

Til time to leave and you were there

I was happy as we spoke and drove

You may have saved my life

But what is life without you there

Cause you were gone when I was done

Once again I was alone

I shuffled into the guardroom

I lay down in bed to embrace the sleep

You were there and I was pleased

You took my hand and said close your eyes

You gently passed your other hand over my eyes

There we were you and I

I in a tux and you in a gown

You took my breath away as I became astound

I came to you and you to me

We held each other close

As just you and I danced slowly across the floor

Your head on my shoulder my head to yours

Your arms were around my neck

Mine around your waist

I pulled you closer as you nuzzled me

I did not want to end the scene

You lifted your head and said you had to go

I was distressed and said please no

We passionately kissed and then released

I watched you walk away into the light

You said before you were out of sight

If you ever have the need for me

Just close your eyes and there I'll be

I said then I will never open my eyes to see

The glow engulfed you as I reached out

Rest you said and I did without doubt

The morning came and the sun was bright

I felt better because you came to me in the night"

"My Love,

I have unable to contact you so you must be at Hanni’s. The hour is very late and I am very sleepy. I better get to sleep because we are leaving so early in the morning. I can only think of you and my love for you. I miss you so much. I can’t wait until we can be together every night or every day for the rest of our lives.

When I Think of You I Wonder

If I could only be with you now

If you are thinking of me at that moment

If you were happy or sad

If you feel lonely close your eyes, concentrate and I'll be there

If you are able to take comfort in my feelings for you

How much I want to bury you in my arms

If we slow danced together would you lean against me

If you made tea would you offer some to me

What has happened in your past to make you – you

If you like museums, classical music and McDonalds

What your hair feels like on my chest

What you look like first thing in the morning

How you like your eggs cooked

If you would hike in the rain

Why the sun always seems to shine around you even when it rains.

If your brothers and sisters look like you

If I touched you would I be blessed like you

Why the stars at night seem to form an outline of your face

If you are able to hear me whisper your name in the night

Why did we ever meet

How sad I feel that you are not here"

"My Love,

There are times when I become surprised at the amount of emotion inside of me at the very thought of you. At these moments I become almost paralyzed while I revel in the joy of knowing you. The feelings become so pronounced that I want to shout out to the world how I feel about you. Being in love with you is such a natural high and I pray that someday you and I both will be able to share such moments. I just wanted to tell you that now because I am feeling that emotion this very second and I can’t yell to the world. I can only cautiously and quietly write to you, say that I love you, and hope you will believe me as well as want to join me, someday, forever:

Oh How

When I see your face

The wind stops blowing

The voices of others become mute

My mind focuses only on you

And the music begins

I revel in the your presence

As my heart beats fast and I’m aroused

You stand so near

Your perfume drowns my senses

I cannot speak

As my love pours

To scream to the world

I want you to be with me

Now and forever

Oh please God let it be true

Please say you want me too

Oh how can I tell you

Oh how will you ever believe

That my love for you

Is stronger than life itself

Oh how can you ever believe

That my love will never stop

Oh how will I ever think

Of a day without you

Oh how

Oh how

Oh how

20th Installment

This is the last poem Pat wrote to Jutta from Germany. This was written after her death in Germany. He continued to write poems, however, he did not add any comments or dates as to when he did this. The next installment will begin those writings:

Jutta, I Love You So:

The Haunting

At work I see you standing there

I become flushed with emotions

I shake as I struggle to keep control

But my desire for you bursts

I cannot wait to say hello and be near

On my way home your face appears to me

Your bright smile makes me smile

Your eyes captivate mine

Your luscious lips tempt me

But you are just a haunting image

Which fades away

During my ride you appear to me again

You offer encouragement

You cheer me on

Your emotional joy helps me ever more

But you are just a haunting image

Which fades away

At night in my bed you appear to me again

Your beauty and innocence shines

As I watch you quietly sleep

I reach out to you

But you are just a haunting image

Which fades away

Oh, why does your vision appear so much?

I know. Do you?

Will your image ever leave me so?

Only when it is no longer an image

But really you"
