a love medley
Syrai/Connor [The Alternative Space]A love medley was an answer to a challenge that called out people to write a musical with Homeland Reality characters in it. I was persuated into writing a little standalone because of that. Still I was to have the last laugh and so I took on my favourite HR-subject: the on-off relationship between Syrai and Connor from Angel (a thing Syrai hates from the bottom of her heart).
The Medley took its name and idea from Moulin Rouge's "Elephant Love Medley" which mixed parts of different songs into one scene between lovers. In the fic Forsaken summoned a magical demon, Lord of the Dance (from the Buffy musical), to tAS and it made everyone sing. Too bad for Syrai she just happened to be in the same space with Connor while this happened.
In the standalone these two start singing to one another and solve some issues. Succumb, rage and love are the themes here. Also Syrai gets to sing her lil themesong: Meredith Brooks' "Bitch"!!! This is still one of my faves...
