Welcome to the Shire of Silver Keep! We are a part of the Kingdom of Artemisia which is part of the Society for Creative Anachronism, an international organization which recreates the middle ages from approximately 600 to 1650 A.D. Our shire is one of the oldest groups in the Kingdom and has produced several Peers of the Realm.

Our goal is to learn as much as possible about life in medieval times, and to recreate certain aspects of those times, such as the chivalry, courtesy, honor and graciousness that are all too often forgotten in our "modern" world. Anyone who joins the Society may learn just about anything that interests them. Learn medieval dances that have existed for hundreds of years, brew your own beer or wine, make your own 'garb' (medieval clothing), learn to cook medieval recipes, practice archery or any of a hundred other things that were an everyday part of life in the Middle Ages. You can become a fighter (using a shield, rattan sword, and real armor), which could eventually lead to the throne of one of the Kingdoms of the Known World.

While this site is primarily intended for the members of the Shire, anyone interested in learning about the Society may find several interesting things here. Feel free to look around and explore our site.
