Today, the company organised this barbeque to celebrate the anniversary. The was a pretty cosy occassion actually, some sort of a Family Day for all the employees. In the past few anniversaries, it's always been the chalet/barbecue/buffet lunch/picnic kind of the gathering, inclusive of lucky draws and polite small talk. In the past few years, I have also shared the same birthday party/cake with the Abex Engineering Pte Ltd.

But this year, at today's barbecue, I was merely a bystander. While my dad went on to entertain his business associates, I kept myself busy trying to entertain my elder brother's girlfriend. Standing afar, I watched them sing the birthday song, blow out the candles and cut the cake.

I never knew that candle light looks prettier from a distance away.
