looking forward: wednesday afternoon - over with this horrendous three days with too much work due, ending brilliantly with an exam on wednesday morning.
goodness: did i mention how much i love receiving emails from the "lurker readers" that i don't know? hehe. i got one yesterday! *hi mac!*
words from my heart

" fishy meteorologists "

...220702, 1409hr, central time...

the only reason i'm writing this and not my lab report, is because the lab report is due tomorrow and i'm so braindead i don't know what to do.

geocities is messing with my website again, i've been wondering what's wrong with my tracker these few days, i had some increases in the number of hits, but i couldn't find the referrals, it was like these new people just randomly typed in my address and found me. and it's just irritating, cos when someone links to me, i'd like to know. so i've been fiddling with my code, checking my tracker code, everything. finally i found out the problem. it's stupid geocities. when you click on a link to my website, it will bring you first to an advertisement page, where the address reads the my address but the page is basically full of geocities advertisements, and there's one link there that points you back to the intended page. so i don't get to track where people had first come from, to get to that advertisement page. am i making sense? argh, so irritating!

i've been looking for a new host, i want to buy a domain name, but i have part inertia and part loyalty for geocities, they've served me well these few years no matter what. but after this, i think i really want to move now. grrrr.

okay, i just tried it out again, clicked on an outside link to me. and *now* it works. argh, geocities is driving me crazy. so now everyone think i'm just ranting about nothing. argh. somebody has to believe me...*sniff*

my thermodynamics professor is hilarious today, he was just on a roll, saying one funny thing after another. i was actually fully awake the whole 2 hour lecture today. two of his verbal gems i just had to write down:

  • "see, i know everyone's name now, i'm dangerous!" *cue goofy laugh*
  • "meteorologists...fishy, y'know?" *cue 5 minute discussion of why meteorologists really don't know anything in low soft voice*

i really ought to thank him for making this thermodynamics class more interesting than it actually is. hee. oh, and by the way, it turns out there was a reason he suddenly started talking about nitrogen and oxygen mixtures and diving whatnot last week, he was preparing us for this example that we were going to do in class. so finally we went through with the example, throw in some physiological facts about body tolerance to oxygen intake, nitrogen intake, blah blah, and we concluded that the diver in the example who overfilled his oxygen tank will die of oxygen toxification. so prof drew a stick figure carrying an oxygen tank, representing the dead diver. and then he drew a hungry shark that was going to devour the stick figure. and then he said, "stupid stupid diver. poor thing." hahahahahaha...

i love talking about this prof, he cracks me up.
