170502, 2113hr, singapore time. i am finally home. the flight went surprisingly well, except the longer leg - chicago-tokyo - i was seated between two big men the whole time, one was a black american, who's really quite sweet but a little clumsy. the other one is a very weird singaporean, my guess is he's a first year, because he's got long hair. hahahaha...not to generalize, but a lot of guys try out the whole long hair thing in their first years, especially after their ultra-disciplined-short-haired days in the NS. it's not just the long hair that's weird though, what's so weird about long hair anyway. it's just that he's such an outwardly expressive guy, it's funny. he was watching a japanese anime on his laptop, and he laughed out loud. maybe it's because he had his headphones on, he didn't realize how loud he was. haha. not that i mind, i watched the anime with him, through the corner of my eyes. heh. i'm so sneaky. when the anime stopped because his computer hanged, he let out a "huh???" like a disappointed child. loud. hahaha...so cute. and when the plane touched down, he was like on the edge of his seat, just waiting to jump up. when the seatbelt sign went off, he really did jump up, picked up all his bags and was all ready to go. of course, it takes some time for the tunnel [connecting the plane to the terminal] to be ready, so he had to wait. so there he was, scratching his head, stretching his neck out to far to see the front of the plane. ah, so cute. the enthusiastic homecomer. i was enthusiastic too, of course. but i've learnt to play it cool. such as to remain seated till people in front start moving off. despite my cool appearances though, god knows how glad i am to be home. despite the horrid weather [it's a sauna here!] despite my elder brother having colonized my room beyond recognition. despite my father and little brother's obsession about my supposed obesity, and my mom's obsession about my supposed lack of beauty care over the past year. despite getting lost while out on my own shopping. despite all that i can complain, i'm happy beyond words. by the way, my results are out. man, of all classes, it turns out i did worst for my japanese class. apparently all that ogling of sensei took a toll on my studying after all. hahahahhaha.... | ||
