101101, 1743hr, illinois time. been a few days since i last updated eh? yeah. summary of what happened. studied. and studied. and studied. and screwed up exam. pissed off. tried to study. sleep with much discomfort [ie on top of notes, books, poked in the arm by pencil, and so on.] get exams over and done with. collapse with fatigue and pass out. yeah, that's basically what happened. had international relations exam yesterday, expectedly easy, so that was fine. communications exam was bad. think i have to start bracing myself for a C for that class. but anyway, friday was wonderful - i made plans, so that i would have something to look forward to at the end of hell week. so after class on friday, i played some badminton, which felt really good. gonna start playing more sports, alvin says my metabolic rate is too low, which explains why i sleep so much. i don't think i sleep too much, but heck, sports is good anyway, shall just do more of it, and let alvin think he's exerting a positive influence on me. in my international relations class, we learn that power is difficult to define, because it's hard to say A has an influence on B, because one cannot tell B's original intentions.... heh. after badminton, went to angel's church for a thanksgiving dinner. i love thanksgiving dinners! wonderful wonderful food. so happy. tk won a pumpkin pie for one of the games we had to play, but he gave it to us [as in my house] cos the guys in his apt aren't likely to be able to finish that pie. heh. love pies. yum. priya had been bugging me for days to watch monsters inc with her, but i was quite reluctant to - very skeptical about animation/cartoon stuff. i was instead looking forward to bumming around at home with alvin, and catching up on some sleep and clearing my horrendous email backlog. unfortunately, alvin agreed to go watch the movie - he's more interested in the animation technology part, than the story - so i went too. most people in the house had gone up to chicago for dinner, so if alvin's not home, i don't want to home either, i would be so lonely. and man, i'm so glad i went. it was great! the animation's really cool, the monsters incredibly adorable, the concept of doors, the little girl, the voices, even the villain whatshisname. simply simply great. i especially loved the little girl...she was so cute! i still have a mental image of her clinging to sullivan's weirdly colored fur [which animation-wise is very well done, by the way]. so so so cute. her eyes were disproportionately huge, almost scary, but her giggles, her mumblings, her singing, so freaking damn cute. man, is that my biological clock ringing?! haha... i have to go for dinner now. this entry is of course quite pointless, except to make a record of what i did for these days of absence. it feels strange writing again, after about 4 or 5 days of hiatus. quite strange. | ||
