Mood: hungry and expecting a good meal Happiness of the day: shaun is cooking dinner and accidentally invited me along to eat. muahaha... Event of the week: engineering exam coming up! bleah.
I'm feeling rather lazy right now, sitting in shaun's room and waiting for him to finish cooking dinner. This entry is written by a friend of mine.....
there was once a small little girl who was very poor. she only had her clothes *which was all that she had* and a loaf of bread. walking through a forest, she came upon a poor kid who asked her for food. obligingly, she gave him the bread. as she walked along, she met another kid who asked for her hat. again, she gave it up to him. as she continued walking along, she met with another kid who was feeling really cold. the kid asked for her clothes, and without much thinking, she gave him the clothes too. the girl was now left with nothing at all, a naked lonely soul walking through the dark forest. as she walked up a hill, she looked up and saw a lot of beautiful stars. all of a sudden, the stars started falling down and turned to gold coins, and she lived happily ever after.
sometimes i ask myself how much i have to give up in order to get what i want. but that is really not what the girl thought. the girl probably didn't expect anything in return for all that she gave, and even when the stars that fell turned into gold coins, she probably didn't expect or want to keep all the gold. hers was a heart so pure and simple... caring only for others... putting others above herself...
i guess those of you who read the story will probably find it very familiar... yes, it's from the popular *or once-popular* japanese serial heaven's coin... and though it may not be an accurate recollection of the actual story... the geez of it is there... and i *who happens to be a friend of cindy... whose identity will NEVER be disclosed* am just typing it now... because sometimes i ask myself... how often do i have to give in order to receive...
