| Friday: Oh my... a very late night. Michele and I started on the road at 7pm and made pretty good time... we got to the hotel at 11, and was only lost for a short while... "is that a swan?" "No... it's a duck!" "we're staying at a hotel with a duck!?!" We got up to the room, and were they loud... heard them when the elevator door opened. Michele made a great first impression by doing her 'Hablabba' for everyone. Then, because we were so loud, we started getting offers from the con geeks. We got notes through our door with 'want to hang?' from some guys who loitered outside our door... it was rather strange. They must have stayed out there for at least an hour or so... we messed with their heads, as the QL should show. We watched Demolition Man where we asked the age old question "Are you a Jedi or Nazi?" and after a few hours we finally calmed down and got to sleep at about 4... not really sure. Saturday: Boy it was early... why in the world did we decide to get our wake up call for 7am when the con started at 10??? No clue... well, most of us (besides Kathe) got up at the more normal time of 8. We went to have breakfast at McDonalds, which was an expierence. Then we got to the Convention center and had to brave the long lines of cars... did i mention that a cold front was moving down and an annoying drizzle was falling and it was *freezing* cold? So, we had to park far away and then walk to the center.. where my hair was having a horrid time, cause I straightened it the day before. Fortunately I had my leather jacket which I stuck over my head, so my hair was still straight :) We got into the Con and it was *huge*, this is my 2nd con and I was blown away. The dealers area was huge and there was a small section near the left where the famous people did the autographs. Well, we got in line for Ginny, and she actually remembered me from before when I gave her the DRD... and cause of that she gave me a free autograph. HEE! And this time I actually got a picture with her... we must have talked to her for a good 15 minutes. After that I went to get Michonne's autograph (Aurra Sing) and then David Prowse. He was kinda of short and tiny bit rude to the guy in front of me, and I thought he'd be the same with me... nope. I guess my outfit and hair pleased him, cause he was really nice to me... <snerk> Michele saw a video playing and absently goes "She-Ra." then all of us (well, maybe just me, not really sure) screamed and rushed over to the video yelling "SHE-RA!!" all the way... I think we freaked out everyone else there.... and there were all kinds of outfits. It was very interesting. I found all of the merchandise I wanted, spent a good amount of money, and had to leave before I spent it all. Later, Jen, Kathe, Michele and I sat in the food area while Sam and Dani went to see Kevin Smith. Kathe and I watched all the cute guys walk by and were amazed that there were so many at a Sci-fi Con. Then we got freaked cause a guy walked by that look *exactly* like Phil... it was really weird. We found a Denny's, had dinner, and said good-bye to Kathe and Jen :'( Sam, Dani, Michele and I got back to the hotel where Michele and I practically fell on the bed from exhaustion. While Michele and I watched movies, Dani and Sam went to see Queen of the Damned and when they came back they said we didn't miss much... very bad movie. Went to sleep semi early... for a scaper meet. Sleep at 2:30 am. Sunday: Got up at 8, packed up the room, had breakfast downstaris and actually saw Ginny sitting there eating her breakfast. I guess she stayed at our hotel... then we headed over to the Con. There weren't as many people as there was the day before, and it was really nice. Went to give Ginny Dani's present (which she used right away) and we talked about where she should vacation in Florida. I told her Marco Island, and then she gave me an autograph picture for free for the ScaperCon raffle. Very sweet of her. I headed over to Kenny Baker's table where I got him to sign my book and I didn't talk to him much. Later I walked around a bit and then I got into Andy Hallett's line... I don't watch Angel (he's the Host on there) at all, maybe once or twice, but I decided to get his autograph cause he was such a HOTTIE!!! <g> I got to him, and we started talking about cons... I told him that MegaCon was the second one I've been to, first being Vulcon, and he was *really* sweet. I asked to get a picture with him and he said to come around the table. I went around and right then the camera decided not to work...<g> after Michele got it to work Andy leaned over and was telling me how he loved watching people try to use other peoples camera, cause they never work. I told him that Michele had been using it for a few days. We started laughing and Michele asked if we were talking about her, Andy said we were and she pretended to storm away, We all laughed, had fun and it was all good... <sigh> I do love him, and I've never seen the show! After that, Michele and I just looked around, and I found a Mara Jade picture that I've been wanting, found a signed Orlando Bloom picture, but couldn't get it cause I didn't have enough money. We sat outside and saw some strange things walk by... one of these things looked like a big potato sack, and Michele and I were trying to see the front of it. We were starring for a while and right before it turned the corner we saw what it was... a "Killer Condom" with teeth and blood dripping and everything... we were probably heard laughing across the center... it was just so orginal. We found Dani and Sam, then left to eat dinner. Had dinner, dropped Sam off at the hotel, and left for the long trip southwards... Dani got to her parents and I got home at about 9... and I saw Alias then :) Was tired, slept very well that night. |
