July 26th, 2007 update
Sail and Kayak this Sunday, July 29th.
We have the Iona 25 in decent shape now.  We pulled it out & scraped the bottom & painted it.  I had a diver clean & put new zinks on the Cal30 and the Newport 29.
It is available to sail.  Needs some work in the cabin.  The Newport is in good shape & ready to go on a monents notice.

Brett and I have been doing a lot of sail racing in the beer can series running Tuesday and Thrusday evenings in King Harbor, on our Cal 20 and on a Santana 27.  Call or email if you are interested in racing.
We did not get enough folks interested to do the July Catalina trip this weekend.  Too bad, it would have been an excellent trip to Rippers Cove.  There is a secret sea cave there that we could have kayaked into.  A fun group from RBYC is going.  Please contact me at least three days before any planned trip if you want to go.  Contact me anytime for day sails.

May 21, 2007 Update
We had a general meeting on May 19th attended by 5 Sea scouts and three leaders. The plans are:
June 16, clean up & take Ariel out for a day sail.
July 13,   We are planning a Catalina trip on July 13, weekend, Friday thru Sunday.
August 24 thru 26th, another Catalina trip is planned.

We have limited space, so contact me ASAP to reserve a spot.
Ken and Sam have taken out the Avon & say it works great, very fast with the 15HP, we plan to take it on the Catalina trips.

We are getting interest in getting the hobie cat in the water.
Any volunteers to work on getting the registration taken care of first?

We have raced the Cal 20 several times now with a very active King Harbor Cal 20 fleet.  Lots of fun to be had here.  Call me if you want to race.  The boat is available to experienced skippers!

We sold our old Cal20 "Surf City" last summer.

Summary of our first meeting this year is as follows:

Pretty good meeting on Jan 14th... Artem, Brett and Sam were the regulars.  We had a potential new member, Richard L also attend.  Richards family has deep roots in Sea Scouting so we want to make sure that his family and friends are also invited to join.. We need to expand our membership.

1. Need to improve our meeting ceremonies, first get our opening correct.
2. We need to set up ranks and positions for our members!
3. We want to get a uniform for our group, this will be discussed even more later on in the year.
4. Have a planned sailing activity after evey meeting day.
Our regular meetings are scheduled on 2nd and 4th Saturday, of each month at 9 am, please, mark your calendar.
We also have a standing meeting scheduled at 7 pm on each 2nd Tuesday of each month. There is a BSA roundtable on the 3rd tuesday of each month at 7:30.Adults should take the "safety afloat", "safe swim defense" and "youth protection"  held at the LDS Church 22605 Kent
Dec 17 2005 Christmas Parade
This was a concerted effort with the help from boy scouts troops throughout the Pacifica District.  We spent quite a bit of time getting the Newport28 ready & then additional time creating and decorating "Ariel" for the Christmas boat parade.  We won a trophy for execution of theme "Country Christmas".  Our first trophy after three years of competing.  A picture and caption were published in the Beach Reporter.
