2.) Second, you need to get yourself aquainted with the current storyline. Read as many posts as possible to get an idea of what is going on. If you find that reading every single post is a burden, just concentrate on the posts made recently (within the last week or two). Also, a newsletter should be posted once every two weeks, and contains a section that summarizes the current plot (Note: The summaries in the newsletter are brief and don't contain much information. They do, however, give you an idea of who is doing what, so you can look for their posts and get more details). The Current Events section of the web site will have summaries as well. Whatever you do, do NOT post on the boards asking for a summary. Once again, please ask a fellow RPer. Also, please try to avoid making any super invincible characters, or characters that wouldn't fit into a Suikoden game.
3.) Third, you need to create a character. You can either use a character from one of the Suikoden games, or create your own original character. Please check the Players section for characters currently being used. Remember, be sure to think about every aspect of your character, from their personality to their physical description. If you need help creating a character, you can ask another RPer or one of the Founders.
When you are done creating your character, please fill out this profile form and send it to Ultema and Yang.
4.) Next, decide what your character's role in the story will be. Are they long time friends with someone else's character, just some commoner who happens to run into another character, or just out on their own? If you decide to somehow interact with another character, please be sure to discuss your ideas with their owner first. If you decide to make up a new sub-plot within the overall storyline, make sure it is reasonable. If you decide to join someone else's sub-plot, ask them how you could fit in, and share your thoughts and ideas.
5.) Fifth, be sure to browse over this web site. Be sure to read all the Rules and get to know them by heart. Also, check out all the other sections for more information on the game, such as races and characters. If you've read through this guide and still have questions, please contact either Ultema or Yang and ask them.
