I can't believe I hadn't made this earlier... FF6 has the best characters ever imagined and deals with more topics than Rent and Neon Genesis Evangelion combined. Love, war, betrayal, death, comedy, parents of different races, opera, attempted suicide, teen pregnancy, genocide, etc. All in a package that conceals these in a way to perfectly suit the perfect game. Read all these quotes-they're great.
