          DEVILS WIND

Rain falls softly on the window sill
Flashes of lightning down empty streets
Sound of thunder in the distance
Water dripping slowly down

Wind picking up howling through the night
Storm moving behind brilliant flashes of light
Breaking branches that fall to the ground
Mother natures provincial frown

Sound of terror upon the wind
Perfect tornado begins downward spin
Trash clutttered landscapes where houses had been
Dreams destroyed forever by the downward spin

Reaperless scythe at work in the land
People without shelter coldness of the wind
Loved ones never to live again
So we prepare to say good bye to friends

WHat we lost to a evil wind
Pick up the pieces and move on again
Rebuilding lives under blue skies
Remembering the southern winds
That spawned the devils wind

         REASON FOR THE SEASON

Glimmering  distances beyond cold wet snow
Fills the valleys and elevations below
Cascades of snow upon the winds
Dim reminder of cold days ahead

In the city of David a child was born
Two thousand years ago without sin
For the salvation of all who come after
This child in beggars rags in a stable

Three wise men followed the brightest star
To a manger only fit for animals
But yet the son of man was born
   Whos devotion would stand
   Till the end of time

   Three wise men presented gifts
   And knelt to pray
   Not fully knowing the future
   This child would play
   Into the hearts of multitudes
   Even unto this day
But only a child in this manger
   Does he lay

So I say to each and everyone of you
May the love of that child shine through
Lift up your hearts and your prayers
Bless all of you this holiday season

Love is the reason we worship Jesus
   During this holiday season
For the life he did give
So eternally we shall all live

So the brotherhood of man may endure
Trials and tribulations we must go through
We celebrate the birth of our lord
   All the year through AMEN

                    LAURA

            (Dedicated to Laura Bush)

So far it becomes from lifes intended paths
Slowly we become what we are destined to be
Unassuming smile from a librarian from the deep south
    Stole a mans heart away

What visions of the future did she see
    Quiet life under Texas trees
Where birds sing quietly in the breeze
Rolling meadows of flowers sweet fragrance

Laura your life was meant for greater things
    First lady of texas
    A grace few have seen
    You now take center stage

Thrust into national spotlight of politics
    Soon your husband becomes president
    The day now comes
where your causes will be justified
Speak your convictions of education for all

This day is like no other we have known
    Who could have imagined
The lengths the terrorists  would go
Twin towers lie in ruin,Pentagon smoking and on fire
The heroics of an american jet
    who willingly gave their lives
    In a Pennsylvania field
    Capitol dome might have felled
    And destroyed all within

    Remember you as america does
    Standing firm and proud
    With determination in your eyes
    Comforting the millions watching on
Pain and anguish clear upon your face
On that dark and terrible September day

    I saw something much more
Love for all your fellows americans just been slain
    Rememberance in your heart
    Of what families must bear
Grief of Terrible loss that seemed to be everywhere

At that moment I knew you were different
Love for country and all who dwell by gods will
A noble first lady to be proud of
Who brought back class to Pennsylvania Avenue
As americans we can only love her for that
