| A student of the shotokan school of Karate, Ryu has devoted his entre life to perfecting the true way of the warrior though the mastery of the fireball. It is this devotion that makes Ryu the eternal rival of Sagat. Now Ryu wanders the world for the strongest fighters to battle. He is a friendly rival of Ken Masters, in which he grew up with. Ryu and Ken were both students of the shotokan master, Gouken, as they trained along with Retsu. After 10 years at Gouken dojo, there training came to a tragic and abrupt end. Akuma, Gouken's brother, used the raging demon to kill him. Ryu and Ken were left without a master. They went there seperate paths and will meet each other for a fight ever now and again. Once possessed by the dark hadou, Ryu becomes his alter ego, Evil Ryu. |
