I Do Not Love You
I do not love you, no
for you are as alien as a picture on the wall
looking at the world through veiled eyes.
I do not know you - thrice denied -
and what I do not know
this, I cannot love.
I do not love you, no
our thoughts cannot meet and join
we cannot even argue.
We are foreigners to each other -
how then can we love?
