About Me
Hi there. My name is Aelwyd. I live in the UK, and I'm of mixed Scottish and Irish heritage. You could say I love my country, not because it is better, but because it is mine. I am very fond of it, and would not live elsewhere. I would love to travel, though, especially to Greece, Israel and Egypt. One day I'd like to go back to America too - I've only been once, to New York.
I'm 23, though I can hardly believe it sometimes. I feel still about fourteen so its a bit of a shock to suddenly find myself an adult!
I love writing. Ever since I was seven I've wanted to be a writer, and while that dream still seems a long way off I can at least get a form of "vanity publishing" here on the internet. And if only one person reads my writings and likes it, then its all worthwhile.
Aside from writing, of course I love reading too. Particularly fantasy novels and poetry. My favourite author has to be Tolkien, and he's been my favourite since I was a small child, and my mother used to read my the Lord of the Rings before I went to sleep. Ever since I first learned to read I've read everything I could get my hands on, and sometimes I even wonder if I'm actually addicted to reading! I have been known to read the backs of cereal packets and shampoo if there is nothing else available! I always wanted to live in a bookshop, and read every book that had ever been written - its just a shame that as I've grown older I've realised thats not very likely!
My hobbies are really, reading, the internet, and writing. But apart from them I also enjoy playing computer games on my Playstation, and listening to music. At the moment I seem to be going through a country music phase, though I listen to most things. I also enjoy reading about and debating religion, though its so controversial that I have to be careful with that!
I hope you enjoy my website - and I really cannot think of anything else to write here!
