This site is offically for MJ WARRIORS Fan counting and Points System Site. There are some rules that are debatable due to different countries play differently. That is why this site is set up for MJ WARRIORS to standardise it and hope there will be less or no more dispute.

In short, 5 fan and up game is using your knowledge of 1 fan and 3 fan to build up the fans. However, in MJ Warriors, you must have at least a 3 fan as a base to build that to 5 fans
E.g. You are so lucky to get all flowers and seasons that make you 4 fans , you are not allowed to mahjong all mixed chow and say it is 5 fans.
There are too many combinations that can make 5 fans and up. Hence, it is quite impossible to list all of them. Below are some of the common examples.

Some members have dispute about this. From the hand you can see that it is semi suit (3fan)+all chow (1 fan) + no flower (1 fan) = 5 fan
Another cheap 5 fan is almost same tile above but with not correct flower plus selfpick.
Hence it will be semi suit (3fan) + all chow (1 fan) + selfpick (1 fan) = 5fan
Indeed this is the cheapest 5 fan. |

NOTE:
East Seat: Flower/Season 1 =1 fan
South Seat:Flower/Season 2 =1 fan
West Seat: Flower/Season 3 =1 fan
North Seat: Flower/Season 4= 1 fan
Normally, tournament will end in the hand of East, hence you can remember
If you are at East seat and pong east, you will get 2 fan
If you are not at East seat and pong east, you will get 1 fan
Dragon: Red , White , Green
Wind: East, South, West, North
Honor: Red, White, Green Dragon and East, South, West, North Wind |

In tournament, you must do standard 3 fan and 5 fan in order to mahjong or you will be disqualified.
For example, in 3 fan tournament, you are in East seat and pong East and dragon that make you 3 fan, You are NOT allowed to mahjong. You have to do all pongs or pong and chow with same suit with dragon/winds.
It is the same in 5 fan tournament, you have to use 3 fan as a base to build it up to 5 fan. |
