TRAVEL PHOTO SAMPLER #16: TRANSPORTATION
Tranportation is so much part of any travel. However, I don't have a whole lot of really exciting photos of the many unforgettable rides (such as the Monte Tobbogan ride in Madeira).
After two hours on a small rocking boat, making offerings to King Neptune from the bottom of my, uh, stomach, the oxcart was a nice change of pace. Seychelle Islands
This is the gentle but stubborn mule Kapakahi, mentioned in my travel article about Molokai, Hawaii.
Sometimes walking is the only way to go (notice long trail ahead). Although you may pay the price the next day or two... and waddle everywhere.

My favorite form of transportation is still walking. Here's me trying to get oriented in Siracusa (doesn't usually help. I have a natural gift for getting lost).
