TRAVEL PHOTO SAMPLER #3: CHEAP EATS

For me, food adventure is one of the best things about traveling.  Of course, it can also be one of the costliest (is that a word?) aspect of traveling.  Here are some ways to save money.

If you don't eat a lot (I do, but...), find places that charge by weight (pizza in Florence, Italy)

First, look for foods that do not require utensils, like carnitas (Patzcuaro, Michoacan Mexico)

Go where the local law doesn't prohibit picking fruits, or where the orchard owner is generous
(Halawa valley, Molokai, Hawaii)

Local market can offer cheaper, and often exotic food sources ("buddha fruit," Taipei, Taiwan)
