Tips 'n' Tricks

Here are some helpful tips that will help u become a better nitto racer:

More Consistent Reaction Times(Mainly Brackets)

First thing you do is put the car in neutral right in front of the first stage line. Then you put the car in 1st, and let it roll while you click on the gas(don't acclerate yet!). Wait until the 3rd light, then punch it. Once you get the hang of this you should be spittin out .50x reaction times and you will never peel out!

Better H2H times

Here is the best launch method for H2H. If you start any other way, this way should add anywhere from .05-.100 secs to your H2H time. This launch is similar to the Better Reaction Time launch as stated above. You want to stop right after the first stage line. Wait just a half second before the lights appear(this is the part you need to practice you don't want to be stopped once the lights begin), shift into first, then wait after the second light goes off, then accelerate. I hope this makes sense. Good Luck.

Shifting(Brackets)

Better shifting equals better ET times. So the first thing u do is dyno your car. The dyno will give you the HP and a RPM and it should look someting like this 160 hp@7800 rpm. The rpm number that the dyno gives you, which is 7800 rpm, is the rpm you want to shift at. This is a more consistent way of shifting, but i have had reports, where in some cars, peoples ET's get slower becasue of shifting at the dyno rpm. So try it with every car. Also get the Ultralight Tachometer Guages. Those things brought my ET down .080 secs!! When you get your guages set your shift light to the dyno's rpm. Shift everytime the light comes on and boom your all set.

Shifting(Head to Head)

Here is the best shifting method for H2H. When you shift while doing H2H, you can pretty much ignore the dyno rpm. To get the max performance for any H2H car is to almost redline it. Also, since the shifting is so fast, it is hard to be accurate. So with this is mind, I set the shift light about 2 to 3 hundred rpm from the redline to give me a "warning" that I am close to the redline. It works for me.

Turbocharger or Supercharger??

A turbo or a supercharger, that is the question. Well here is the awnser. The supercharger is proven better than the turbocharger. The supercharger provides more torque and gives you faster launches. While the turbo offers higher top end speeds and turbo lag. Since this is a drag racing game, we don't really need the high top end speed, we need the torque and quickness to get down the strip. A supercharger will give you lesser horsepower than than turbo will. Also, if i am not mistaken, supercharger cost less. So if you ever have the option of a supercharger, get it.

Here are some Tricks that may or may not help you out:

Auto-Foul

You know everytime nitto is lagging and you decide to do a race and after the race you get the invalid car data thing and it auto-fouls you? Well other people get the same problem, not only you. So when you accept the challenge, and you first enter the race screen, look up at the opponents dial-in. If the nuber is 0 that means he got the auto-foul, and a automatic win for you.

Sava Race Data

Don't you hate it when your racing the CPU and you get the blue screen that says "saving Race Data" and it freezes. Well a trick to get out of that is to hit tab, until you see the one of the buttons at the top of the screen are highlighted in yellow, then you hit enter and your just got past the blue screen. Note: You do not win the money if you won the race.

Run Real Low Times!

This is how you can get really low times, but can only be done in a computer race. Well what you do is take any car and set it's bracket dial-in low, like 3.1. When the computer lights begin, you begin. It will cause a foul but you can run like 3 secs with a viper. It is just a fun and cool thing to see.
