Ranks of Shienar
All soldiers of Shienar will follow a basic military ranking system.  A member of Shienar must complete all the necessary requirements detailed for each rank before promotion.  In all cases, the leader of Shienar and his second-in-command make the final decision on promotions.  The rank structure is as follows:
Initiate Any potential member of Shienar automatically has this rank.  This is not an actual rank within the unit, but is reserved for those who seek to join.  They can use loaner equipment and garb while they prove their dedication by attending events and practices.
Guard Once an Initiate has gone to three practices and one official event, the rest of the unit holds a meeting to vote on whether or not they will welcome the Initiate into the ranks of Shienar, at which point he/she becomes a full member of Shienar and is given the rank of Guard.
Corporal Attend six practices and two official events as a Guard, earn ten total rank points through the testing process, and own at least one weapon and one outfit of garb.
Sergeant - Attend nine practices and three official events as a Corporal, earn twenty total rank points through the testing process, and own three different weapons and two outfits of garb.  Demonstrate battlefield leadership ability, and have recruited one member of Shienar who has earned the Guard rank.  Defeat two Guards simultaneously in unlimited combat, and one Corporal in unlimited combat.
Lieutenant - Attend twelve practices and four official events as a Sergeant, earn thirty total rank points through the testing process, and own five different weapons, a shield, and three full outfits of garb.  Demonstrate significant battlefield leadership ability, and have personally recruited two members of Shienar who have been promoted to Corporal.  Defeat two Corporals in unlimited combat, and one Sergeant in unlimited combat.
Captain - Attend fifteen practices and five official events as a Lieutenant, earn thirty-five total rank points through the testing process, own an individual armory of equipment so that he/she never needs to borrow gear, and five full outfits of garb.  Demonstrate extraordinary battlefield leadership ability, and have personally recruited four members of Shienar, two of which must have been promoted to Corporal, one to Sergeant, and the other to Lieutenant.  Defeat two Sergeants in unlimited combat, and one Lieutenant in unlimited combat.
Warder - Attend twenty practices and six official events as a Captain, and earn forty total rank points through the testing process.  Defeat two Lieutenants in unlimited combat, and one Captain in unlimited combat.  Must have obtained the Copper Claw, Silver Talon, and Golden Wings, as awards.  Must complete a special Warders Trial.
Champion - Attend twenty-five practices and seven official events as a Warder, and earn forty-five total rank points through the testing process.  Complete the Champions Test an endurance trial involving fighting through all members of Shienar without stopping, regardless of how many times he is defeated, and ends with fighting through three pairs of the highest ranking members of Shienar.
