| ENDURANCE RACE SPEED ZONE FEBRUARY 2001 |
| BACKGROUND |
| This is an amature race organized by Speedzone Go-Kart track at their Go-Kart for hire track at Bukit Lanjan. The endurance race is actually testing your consentration, pation, skill and stamina. The obejactive of the race is to drive the kart for one hour non stop and the winner will be the dirver that makes the most laps. As for that, anyone who is intrested to join can join, doesn't matter if you are expert, amature or bigginer. This race is devided into 5 categories:- 1) Open A 2) Open B 3) Open C 4) Veteran and Female 5) Red eyes. The red eyes is the same as open categore, however the race is being done 1.00 a.m. If you are intrested to join, this race is being done every friday and at the end of the month they weill have the Final, and the selection to final will be based from the weekly race result. The fee is RM 100.00 per race not inclusive of Final. Comment****** A VERY INTRESTING RACE FOR ALL GO-KART LOVERS. |

| I took part in this race for the month of February. It was a very good outing because I WIN THE RACE, Yeah!!!!! I participate in the veteran and ladies category. Although it was jua a veteran and ladies but all those participate was ex or current profesional racer. HEATS (SARINGAN) I did the heats (Saringan) on 16th February 2001. I came in third plasing but I was declared champion as for the 1st and 2nd placing was not veteran. As for that I was give full 12 points and this allow me a good chance to go to the final. FINAL It was done on 23rd of February 2001. My good friend, Shakri, and a very experience driver was in the final also. So I thought, no chance to win. The race start with a pack driver in front and I was at 5th plasing after 2 laps. With my experience I manage to squeez ti 2nd place after 8 laps and a lady, Wan Nor Azizan was leading. But at lap 14 Shakri, came from behind and overtook me. (Dia memang terror). It stay like that until lap 35 when Shakri Go-Kart have problem where he has to go in the pit to change the Kart. There I manage to beat him and go back to 2nd place. Wan Nor Azizan is steal leading. With the assistant of a friend, Moses from the spactator steat, I was able to know how far Wan Nor Azizan is and at lap 81, I manage to overtake her. After that there is no stoping and all the way to the chequed flag. |
