The Shets are comprised of two members: Anthony Horatio Gage and Tom Void (a.k.a. Padre Doce, a.k.a. Gregg Rector). The two started off as friends from high school and have since terrorized friends and neighbors with their pungent sound. The band originally formed as three people with the inclusion of one Daemon Bob, who probably does not want his real name written here. The three, under no band name, recorded a few songs together. When, jokingly, a band name was called for, Tom replied, The Shits. The name stuck for a while. Bob eventually left the group, now comprised of the two currently known members. For some reason unknown to even the Shets, they decided to pick a less vulgar name and substituted an "E" for the "I". The Shets were truly born. They recorded their first album (unavailable to the public as far as I know) entitled Youve Got The Shets. This album was dispersed amongst select friends. Sales were poor, reviews were poor, but it was all in good fun. Well, actually, some people kinda liked it. We still havent figured that one out. After the anti-success of their first album, they created another opus of pointlessness, When the Shet Hits the Fan. This album was treated the same as the first. Despite the previous two albums, they created a third, World of Shet. No one knows why.
Okay, it's been a while, but I feel that I should update the history finally. The Shets, of course, finished the fourth album, "American Bullshet", and like all of the previous albums, it was not released, nor did it garner any rave reviews. Then, the Shets released their first freely-available album "Square One" and have recently completed the wonderful follow-up, "The Erstwhile Mr. Sanders". It's their favorite album so far. Go buy it. We'll be your best friend.
And now, an update. As you may or may not know, we've started work on our third album, "Bravest of Boys". This time around, we've had a bit of help from Jeremy, and a new singer in the form of Jason. Right now, we've got a few songs we're working on, and it should be finished decently soon. So far, it's glorious. Hooray for us!
The man in the strange pants,
Tom
