January 9, 2005 Bryan Harrison Band at the Cherry Bar The band enjoyed a fun set with extra layers of guitar goodness. The cool bands playing before us also rocked.
January 15, 2005 Bekka's Frogland Orchestra at Women on the Way One night, we presented an original music and performance piece, "War and the Worms," as part of a festival including many talented performers. The next night, we put on a fun Frogland show featuring our best originals and characters from "War and the Worms."
February 1-10, 2005 Sheryl's 2005 NC events I performed at a range of literary and musical events at several new venues with the help of talented collaborators.
February 17, 2005 Sheryl and Tangria at the African-American Historical and Cultural Museum of the San Joaquin Valley
This performance featured live jazz and celebrated Black History month with selections written by Monk, Mingus, Toni Morrison, August Wilson, Cornelius Eady, June Jordan and others. Local poet Felecia joined us and a recording of the program may be aired on cable TV in Fresno.
February 26, 2005 Sheryl and Tangria at the Hayward Public Library The diverse audience asked great questions after our literary and jazz performance celebrating our favorite African American artists, my novel "Lady Bird" and the CD "Songs from Lady Bird." Greg, a talented guest bassist, also joined us.
February 27, 2005 That morning at Cal's Women's Rights Conference, I learned a lot from the BAMN group and had a great conversation while presenting on the panel titled "Affirmative Action and Education." That night at Rassela's, Tangria played three strong sets.
March 12, 2005 Sheryl and Bekka's Frogland Orchestra at King Library I wrapped up my spring tour with great live music from three of the Frogland women, my prose and my poetry selections related to Women's History Month. The snacks and discussion afterward were great.

June 11-12, 2005 Sheryl with Julia Lau Band at Burlingame's Art in the Park The weather and music were fine at this fun festival.
July 4-5, 2005 Tangria Jazz Group's July 2005 Southern tour Tangria celebrated Independence Day in South Carolina and was featured at a Community College in North Carolina.
July 21, 2005 The Sheryl Mebane Combo at the First St. Cafe RJ (guitar), Brendan (bass) and I played Latin, funky, swinging and bluesy jazz. The food, acoustics and beautifully receptive audience were great. Thanks to everyone who came out and made this night special.

September 24, 2005 Tangria Jazz Group at Cafe Claude Tangria returned to this snazzy venue with delicious food to share tunes from our second CD and enjoy a Saturday night out.
October 5-November 6 Sheryl and Tangria's fall 2005 events Tangria and I performed at several literary and musical events at new venues in California's Bay Area.
November 10 Bekka's Frogland Orchestra at the Oakland Metro I was happy to be a part of the Community Urban Soul Project (C.U.S.P)'s live show and benefit for the American Cancer Society.
December 7 Sheryl and Chemists for Peace at UC Berkeley B51 Hildebrand Hall (7:00pm, free) I'm looking forward to sharing my past and current research in equitable chemistry education and to learning from my peers on the panel in a Science and Activism forum.
