| There were two more men nailed to a cross that day, one on each side of Jesus. Each of them were being executed for stealing. One of the men asked Jesus to set them free if He was truly the Son of God. The other man just asked Jesus to forgive him and to remember him when He got into Heaven. Jesus told that man that he would join Him in Heaven that day. |
| While Jesus was hanging on the cross, He asked for a drink of water. The soldiers just soaked a rag in vinegar and touched it to His mouth. While Jesus was dying, the soldiers took the robe that had been on Jesus, and cut it into four pieces and began to gamble with it. Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do". |

| Suddenly, the thunder rolled, and lightening flashed, and the heavens were ripped apart. Jesus cried out with a loud voice, "Father, into Thy hands I commend my spirit", and Jesus gave up the ghost. (he died) |
