Saskatoon
well i found my friend up in Saskatoon
didn't know what he wanted to do....
he asked me if i could lend him a dime
i said i, i wish i had a dime to my name....
we decided to try Montreal way, headed out the very next day
with my rabbit in my pocket an' my fingers crossed
not a single mile was lost...
so i said hello to my family there, they said,
'hey ken, you're losin' your hair'....
i said i'm on the trail of fortune an' fame
makin' up new rules to this game....you know what they said?
they said....
slow down boy now, you're killin' yourself
slow down boy now, what you tryin' t'do to your health?
they said....slow down boy now, this ain't the road to follow
slow down boy now, won't you settle down an' make us happy?
well my friend couldn't take this Montreal scene
said he couldn't find his Canadian dream
so we parted company and he went south
agreed to get in touch by word of mouth....
so i said goodbye to my family and friends
see ya when i pass this way again...
there was food and beer an' i sang 'em a song
they asked me to stay but i was already gone....
Chorus
so i floated around from town to town
tryin' to find my style tryin' t'find my own sound
well the times were hard the breaks were few
all the bad stories that you've heard are true....
so now i'm sittin' on a million bucks
i knew that rabbit would bring me luck...
i'm tryin' real hard to stay in the scene
i guess you could say it's my Canadian dream....
Chorus
