| Part 4 *Flashback (of sorts)* "Daddy! Where go?" a tiny Trunks looked up at his father. "I am practicing at being stronger." "Me too? 'ook me practice!!" The toddler tried to punch his father, but missed, and lost control if his short, chubby legs, falling to the ground. He then checked his knee, and saw it was slightly bloody. His lower lip quivered, and he looked up at Vegeta, blue eyes pooled with tears. "Go show your mother what you've done to yourself. Foolish child." Vegeta took this oppurtunity to exit, fying off to become 'stronger than Kakarotto.' *Back to present* "So you have no feelings for your son in the slightest?" "I don't recall saying that exactly-" "So you wish you had more contact with your son?" "Well, everyone would want to-" "And you feel angry because your dad didn't teach how to properly raise a child?" "All I said was-" "And you're jealous of Goku and Gohan's relationship and that's why you feel hostility towards Goku?" "I... didn't... my God, YOU'RE RIGHT!!!" "Well of course I am. The best way to solve this problem, Vegeta, is to go home and do something with you're son. He dosen't care if you're perfect or not. He loves you as you are, and so should you!" "Yes... I see it all now... thank you, doctor!!" Vegeta heartily shook Dr. Quacksallot's hand, before leaving the room, and heading home happily.(well, no, not happily... ya know, like less pissy than usual, a little less, anyway... okay so he was exactly the same. He changed on the INSIDE people!!!!!) *later, at Bulma and Vegeta's place of residence* "DADDY'S HOME!!!!!" Trunks yelled happily, waiting on the stairs for Vegeta to appear in the door. When he did, Trunks yelled, "DADDY, LOOK WHAT I CAN DO!!" and proceeded to jump from the stairs. In the blink of an eye, Vegeta positioned himslef directly under Trunks, to catch the child who... wasn't falling. "I taught myself!!" Trunks said proudly. Vegeta fought the smile. Really. But in the end his struggle was useless, and his nouth lifted in an expression of pride and love towards his son. "Why don't you come down before you fall?" he asked, fearing that the young boy's ki couldnt hold him up very long. Trunks obeyed, dropping to the floor, and quickly attaching himself to Vegeta's right leg. Vegeta scowled. "I've told you before not to do that," he said. "Besides, you'll be able to see better from here," he said, placing the boy on his shoulders. Trunks looked at his furroundings from his new vantage point, and happily hugged Vegeta's neck. Bulma watched this from a doorway off-shooting the main entrance of the house. She smiled, happy she had finally managed to solve his problems for him. |
