| A wheel of balance |
| There are many many things that contribute to the success of a D/s relationship, the main keys being communication, trust, respect and honesty. All these components to a D/s relationship, or any relationship at all, work with one another to create a balance, a healthy bond. |
| Picture this, an old wagon wheel with four spokes coming from the center pin. Each spoke represents the main keys and the center pin represents the individuals in the relationship. The whole of the wheel represents the relationship itself. |

| Now, for this wheel to roll properly and safely, all four spokes must be present and full. If even one spoke is short or damaged, the wheel will be off balance and unable to roll successfully. |
| If this wheel is unable to serve it's purpose, it is useless, and the other spokes that are healthy are worthless, for it needs all four spokes to roll. |
| A D/s relationship needs all four of those spokes in order to grow, to roll to the ultimate goal, whatever you may precieve that goal to be. |
| Last but not least, the center pin, the individuals in the relationship, need to work together to attain and upkeep all four spokes to acheive the sucess of their bond with one another. |
