| Switches, to me, only exsist in the BDSM |
| community. A switch is someone who sometimes prefers |
| to be the Top in Dominant/submissive play, and other times takes the role of the bottom. Switching back and forth. |
| Many also believe that switches exist in D/S relationships and in the lifestyle it's self. I am not one to argue this point. But, for myself, I believe that someone can be Dominant in one relationship, then submissive in another, but I don't think anyone could be both Dom and sub, switching back and forth in a single D/s relationship. |

| If you think of it this way, a D/s relationship is like a marriage, a long term relationship, where the submissive or slave does his/her role in serving, obeying and pleasing his/her Dom/me. While the Dom/me serves His/Her role in taking care of that sub/slave, teaching him/her and protecting him/her. How would a couple in a D/s relationship be able to suddenly switch roles and switch their duties? How would the Dom/me suddenly stop protecting him/her and and submit? How would the sub/slave all of a sudden take control over that Dom/me and resume in His/Her role? It wouldn't go very smoothly. I believe that someone is either Dominant or submissive in a D/s relationship and stays with that role. I am not talking about Dominating or submitting in sex, that is part of BDSM, and not the lifestyle it's self. A D/s relationship doesn't even have to have any sexual contact involved. |

| a Dom/me is someone who enjoys having control in a long term |

| can be a bottom, or a sub can be a Top, in scening only, however, it doesn't |
| usually happen. A Sadist would normally be a Top in BDSM, and a Dom/me in the |
| lifestyle. A masochist would normally be a bottom in BDSM and a sub or slave in the D/s lifestyle. |
| There are many many more opinions on switches, this is only mine, kind of confusing huh? |
