Journals
A
journal can be a notebook, a specially bound book, a computer file or disk, or
an online service. Its a place where the submissive can release and record every component, feeling or thought during his/her D/s relationship. A submissive or slave's journal should be his/her "safe place" where s/he can speak vanilla and not worry of a punnishment for the words s/he has written. In most cases, the journal is read by the Dominant, so S/He can have a better understanding of His/Her submissive or slave. This allows a deeper level of communication between that Dominant and His/Her submissive or slave. This also allows the Dominant to make better decisions, which are tailored to the current mindset and/or level of the submissive or slave. By recording his/her thoughts, the submissive can look back and see how much his/her relationship, attitude, personality, outlook and experiences have progressed over time. Weather or not the journal is read by the Dominant is up to the individuals in the relationship. Many Dominants will ask of it if S/He feels the submissive is having some difficulties communicating. For many submissives and slaves, their journal can serve as a lifeline in a difficult situation - releasing his/her thoughts and trusting it is a safe place can be a great relief and/or release. Often, submissive's find, the best way to write a journal is to just let the hand write and the words just flow onto the paper without hesitation. Once a submissive is able to do so (through practice), s/he can reveal some pretty shocking things about him or herself s/he never knew were inside of him/her. In the whole, a journal can be of great advantage and an immence comfort for the submissive or slave, that it's worth the time and effort to do, even if just for one's self.

Some suggestions for starting a journal....
In the first entry...
Write a bit about your child-hood, the people who were in your life at that time, some good memories you have and even some of the more difficult memories.
Fully describe yourself, your looks, your personality, your favorite features about yourself and what things you like to do on a rainy day.
The second entry...
Write about what you are looking for in this lifestyle, where do you want to see yourself (within the lifestyle) in five years? Where do you see yourself (in life) in five years?
Write what qualities in a Dom/me are most important to you, what kinds of things are you looking to learn from your Dom/me? Are you wanting to change anything inside yourself once you have the support of a Dom/me behind you?
The third entry...
Begin writing your thoughts and feelings about things you know, have learned, experienced, and want to experience. Begin writing events from your day that were significant to you.
