| Pamela Tuck is originally from Greenville, NC, but has been a resident of Pennsylvania since 1996. She credits her writing to her southern upbringing surrounded by storytellers. She is a life-long writer, who began her writing career with poetry in elementary school. Inspired by teachers, family and friends, she branched out into short stories and plays. She is particularly intersted in writing stories for children, from picture books to middle-grade novels. Pamela and her husband, Joel, are home schooling parents. They are advocates for moral-based, character building stories that will enlighten their children of the world around them and how to handle themselves in the world. In an attempt to portray these values into a family night of storytelling, Sheldon the Mushroom was born. Pamela and Joel, along with other members from their church, worked on the "Sheldon" project in order to share their story with others. Pamela has been awarded the 2007 New Voices Award from Lee & Low Books for a picture book story entitled A Fly in a Bowl of Milk, which is scheduled to be released in 2010. Pamela credits her husband, Joel Tuck, as an invaluable writing partner, who has joined her in the field of writing. They are currently working on a chapter book, a middle-grade novel, and picture books in hopes of sharing more inspiring literature with young people. |
