A Question Lay to Rest

Shasta: (The terror faded from her face and turned into a smile.) Baby, your a vampire again. Oh, God. (covering her mouth, then laughing) Youre a vampire. Oh, I wish you could see yourself. Feel your teeth with your tongue.

(Spike began to rub the fangs that draped from his gums, becoming insane with happiness. He kissed Shasta madly. Thanking her with every kiss, she became happier. Biting and scratching each other, the pain revived Spike, it was pain he hadnt felt in a long while. The pain and the hissing, they made love in front of the creature.)

(The lights were dark Cordy sat in the middle of the floor of the A.I building only a few candles lit the room. Cordy sat in a meditating position, Rob who had left to get some food came back very surprised. He walked over to Angel whom was very impatient.)

Rob: (Looking at Cordy) What is she doing.

Angel: Shes trying to find where Spike and Shasta are through her visions.

Rob: And your sure this with work.

(Angel glared at him.)

Rob: Ok man, damn. Have a cow!

Angel: (To Cordy) Cordy. Are you getting anything.

Cordy: Nothing.

Angel: Please keep trying.

Cordy: Ill try! Id like to see you handle these powers for a day and see how you like it.

Angel: Sorry.

(Cordy tried concentrating harder and harder, she kept seeing nothing but red, and yellow eyes. Then! There it was she temporarily she saw the portal, and the creature that came out of it.)

Cordy: (Turning to Angel, looking worried) Angel.

Angel: What? What was it? What did you see?

Cordy: She summoned a Loqumeer.

(Angel looked confused.)

Cordy: Angel! A Loqumeer is summoned only to destroy, if she sends that thing after anyone, after you. It wont stop until you or the person she tells it to go after are dead.

Angel: Well, lets get it before it gets us.

(Back in the alley Shasta cuddled with Spike. Their faces still those of vampires, it was as if they couldnt change their appearance, like they were stuck as vampires. Standing up, Shasta covered herself in her clothing and drew her sword from the leather pouch. The blade was still stained with Angels blood. Looking at the monster she knew what it wanted. Waving the sword in front of the creatures nose; it could smell the blood.)

Shasta: Do you want this?

(The creature sniffed the sword even more persistently now. A sly evil grin crossed her lips.)

Shasta: You want this so badly, you go and get it. But eat something first, I want you to give him a nice pounding. Go!

(The Loqumeer sped faster than Shasta had ever seen anyone run. She looked down at Spikes chest which was covered in hickeys, Shasta managed to draw blood from giving these types of love bites. Though she had no room to speak about it she herself was covered in the same bloody bites. Looking at him devilishly she spoke.

Shasta: What do you say we both go out and celebrate, since youre a vampire again you can feed as well. I imagine Angel has his hands full and wouldnt show up this time.

Spike: You are a naughty kitty arent you?

(She smiled at him again. Both got dressed and walked to the park again, this time spotting a nice looking couple, grinning at each other they leapt toward the two.)

Cordy: (Back at A.I.) There they are, but, somethings wrong. Spike is a vampire again. I..., we have to go.

(Back at the park Shasta was finished draining the blood from her male victim as Spike was still sucking slowly. Then, Shasta saw him, Angel with his friends walking toward her. She quickly got up from her spot and grabbed Spike. Hiding behind a tree Spike grew furious.)

Spike: What the bloody hell was that for? I was just enjoying my-

Shasta: Shh. Angel is here.

Spike: (Whispering) I thought you said he would be busy tonight.

Shasta: (Whispering) I thought he would be pulp right now. I dont know what happened. The Loqumeer should have finished eating by now.

Angel: Shasta, come out. I know youre here, I saw you.

( Shasta looked at Spike and gave him a kiss. Emerging from the darkness Angel saw Shasta, she stood under the light with vampire features, blood stained her lips.)

Shasta: What are you doing here Angel?

Angel: You summoned a demon and we have to destroy it, together.

Shasta: (Giggling madly) And why would I help you? You turned me into a freak, a vampire. (Seriously) I would spit on your grave a thousand times before I helped you.

Angel: Shasta you dont under-

Shasta: Speaking of graves the Loqumeer should be coming for you any moment, and I would love to see it rip you apart into little pieces then eat your remains. I hope it kills you slowly so you can feel what I fe-

Rob: (Laughing hysterically.) Oh, man I havnt laughed that hard in a long time. (Laughing again) You two freaking out on each other. God, Shasta you were so blind.

Shasta: (Growing angry, as she looked at him) What are you talking about?

Rob: I did it Shasta. (With a twisted grin of anger. She looked upon him confused) I wanted you so badly, I wanted you to be mine, and you were for a while but then we came here and you saw Angel again. (Screaming at Angel) HE TOOK YOU AWAY FROM ME! (Looking back at her) So, I did a little planning of my own. The wiseman was my idea just a little illusion. Angel didnt bite you, what the wiseman showed you was fake. I did it Shasta, I bit you. I made you what you are. I have to say I played it off well. You said you wanted to find your attacker, well here I am, Ive been here with you for four years and you never knew. But I thought youd run back to me, but instead you found this bleach blonde bastard. (Spike began to walk toward him, but Cordy held him back.)

Shasta: You, you did this to me? Why Rob, I never did anything to you.

Rob: Yes. It was my pleasure too. I knew you long before we ever met, I followed you at night, I wanted you. I wanted your blood coursing down my throat, and I got it. Then you cried on my shoulder for for four years about how something awful had happened to you, but you never said what it was, I knew. I knew and I acted like I cared, and for the time being you were mine. I loved watching you attack Angel, stab him, but I hoped you would make love to me instead of this British bitch boy.

(Spike once again started to charge at the quivering git. Shasta held out her hand ordering him to stop but no words came from her lips. Spike stopped but looked at her enraged eyes. She pulled the sword from the leather scabbard on her back and showed it to Rob. His knees hit the ground looking at her with tears in his eyes. She walked closer and closer to him the sword dragging on the ground at her side.)

Rob: (looking one last time into her brown eyes) Go on (With no resistance)

(Shasta screamed with anger as she brought the sword across his neck, decapitating the beast she new so well. He instantly became a pile of ash. The wind blew the ash about; building it atop the toe of her boots. Kicking the ash off her shoes she placed the sword back into the scabbard she looked up at Angel, a single tear trickled down her left cheek. Charles still armed with the cross bow looked at Angel, then to Shasta, and back to Angel again. Wiping the tear from her cheek she stay still, holding herself, unaware of what might happen to her. Spike looked at the both of them from under a tree. Angel slowly moved toward her, looking around at her surroundings, she was terrified. Opening his arms he hugged her. She stood still continuing to hold herself, scared stiff for a moment she was paralyzed, unable to cry or realize what was going on. When she touched back with reality, the tears began to flow down her cheeks, wrapping her arms around Angel so tightly as if she were to never let him go. Spike lit a cigarette and watched displeased Angels hands were on her. Filling his lungs with smoke he threw the freshly tourched smoke to the ground.)

Spike: I hate to brake this up children, but we do still have a monster on the loose, I imagine its terrorizing the city looking for you, Angel. Or just blood, could just be trying to get back home, but we better go find it.

Shasta: (Looking at Angel, wiping the tears from her eyes.) Spikes right.

Spike: Course I am.

(Walking the park parameter, the group stayed together. Shasta walked close to Spike not planning on allowing anything to hurt him. Then, Shasta saw it jumping from a tree, running across the grass at unbelievably high speed, Screaming at the rest of them, they all ran as fast as their legs would carry them. Unable to keep up with the creature any longer they had lost eye contact as well. Slowing down she turned to look at the rest of them.

Shasta: We need a car.

(Driving down the street Shasta looked around but her head lay on Spikes shoulder. The rest of them kept a hawks eye look out.)

Angel: Does anyone know where it might have gone.

Spike: Do you poofs know anything about monsters. Loqumeer feeds on metal so I am guessing it went somewhere that is stalk piled high with metal.

Angel: And where would that be?

Spike: A scrap yard! A metal factory! Bloody hell. Do I have to spell everything out for you people.

(Taking her head off his shoulder, she flipped through the matted old book. Closing the book she prayed there was a dimensional portal wherever they were going. It had been an hour and they still hadnt found the beast. Finally they pulled into what looked like a deserted scrap yard. Hearing loud crunching noises they immediately shut off the engine. Piling out of the car they walked back to the trunk. Placing the key into the hole the truck popped open to reveal weapons, an ax, and three crossbows. Angel grabbed the ax, Cordy, Charles, and Spike strapped the crossbows to their arms and began to enter the maze of piled cars.)

Shasta: (Turning to the rest of them) I just wanted to... say that Im sorry. For everything, for putting you all through what I put you through.

(Turning away they moved onward. Walking further into the endless car craze. No one could hear the crunching or gnawing of metal, it was just dead silent. Suddenly there was a noise and Cordy spun around, pulling the trigger which almost got Spike. The arrow flew and embedded itself in the interior of the nearest trashed car. Spike turned around to glare at Cordy.)

Cordy: (Weakly) Woops.

Spike: Cordelia darling, (walking smoothly back to her, placing his arm around her) Do you mind pointing that thing OTHER THAN WHERE IT WOULD ENDANGER MY BLOODY LIFE!?

(Shasta turned to look at the both of them, Spike had removed his arm and walked farther on with Cordy behind. Shasta turning back walked beside Angel.)

Cordy: Sorry. Its not like it would be bad if you died though.

( Shasta looked back and glared at Cordy.)

Cordy: Ok, ok. Im sorry.

(Shasta turned again to walk onward. She looked at Angel a couple of times and he looked back as she was turning her head. Angel became inquizative.)

Angel: Whats wrong.

Shasta: (Looking hesitant through her vampiric features) Nothing. I just dont want anyone to be hurt is all.

(Angel knew she was lying but didnt say anything, he assured her that everything would be alright and they kept walking. Listening, to every noise and foot step. Then they saw the creature speed past them. Wesley, with a sharp eye; pulled the trigger skimming the things arm. With a small whimper of pain it disappeared behind another mound of cars. Angel turned to look at him.)

Angel: (nodding) Nice shot.

(Turning his around, Spike began making sarcastic phrases behind his back. Charles looked at Spike through the corner of his eye and glared. Spike noticed his stare and looked guilty.)

Spike: (Shrugging) What? Im just trying to warm up the party a bit.(Looking ahead of himself) You living are so chuffed.

(Angel stopped to look at the rest of them. He had a grim, angry statement on his face. Shasta looked at him confused.)

Angel: (Looking at everyone) Look were never going to find it if we stay together, splitting up in twos is the most reasonable thing to do. Charles can go with Wesley, Cordelia goes with Spike. (The two turned to each other in disgust) Shasta comes with me.

Spike: See mate, that doesnt float over real well with me. I get Shasta and you can have this little tart.

Cordy:(Looking angry) And what does that mean?

Spike: Oh, nothing. Its just a British term we use. You dont need to know what it means.

Angel: Knock it off. Fine, Shasta goes with Spike and Cordy comes with me.

Spike: Thats more like it. But we had better hurry and find this thing or were going to die trying. (Everyone looked up at the sky.) The sky will be light soon.

Angel: As much as I hate to say it, Spikes right, lets go. Hurry.

(The three groups split up; running through the Labyrinth of cars. Spike and Shasta walked into a dead end.)

Spike: (Suggestively) Well, since were here, hows about a bonk or two?

Shasta: I would, but, we have to find this thing. When we kill it, you and I will never have to leave the bed, I promise.

Spike: Well if I cant have that. Can I have a good luck snog.

(She looked at him almost in a pout, but when his face was vampiric, she couldnt resist him. She walked over to him, placing her arm around him, and the other on the back of his head, intertwining her fingers in his hair. Their lips touched, his hands were placed firmly around her waist. Kissing passionately for several minutes, she opened her eyes quickly looking around for a moment. Closing her eyes again they continued kissing, sensing something was watching them she opened her eyes again and saw Angel in the distance, staring at them, almost hurt. Shasta pulled away from Spikes now warm lips. He looked at her confused, looking into his eyes she glanced over his shoulder. Spike turned around and saw him standing there. He could see the pain in his eyes but did not feel guilty, he never felt guilty when he hurt Angel. Smirking at him, Spike kissed Shastas cheek, then taking her hand they walked away behind more cars.)

Cordy: (Walking up to him) Come on, We dont have that much time left.

(Grabbing at him Angel finally moved from the spot he was stuck at, they walked on, listening carefully.)

(Meanwhile Charles and Wesley stalked the yard looking for the monster. Charles looked at Wesley, then back up around him. Wesley did the same, both a little shaky they talked to each other for comfort.)

Charles: (Still looking around himself) So when we find this thing, how do we kill it?

Wesley: (Stopping, Charles looked back) You know what the scary part is? I have no idea. Im just hoping there is something in that book, that told Shasta how to kill it.

Charles: She sent the thing to kill Angel, she could have destroyed the reverse incantation.

Wesley: Well, well just have to pray that she didnt.

(Chuckling to himself, Spike walked through the piles of cars with Shasta behind him.)

Spike: Did you see the look on Angels face Ive never seen him look that heartbroken. Damn! I wish Id had a camera, that moment was one to cherish. Wasnt it.

(Shasta looked into his eyes with a betrayed look on her face. Spike noticed it and felt a bit guilty)
